S7 Black Screen When Rotated

Problem: Samsung galaxy s7, straight talk/Walmart brand phone. after the latest update for nougat (few months now) any time my phones screen is rotated to side view mode (full screen youtube, camera, large ads) the screen will rotate normally, but when i go back to default vertical screen mode the screen goes black. still on, but just blank. rotate it comes back, normal it goes away. can restart phone and problem persists until i do a wipe cache partition. then it behaves fine until the next time the phone is rotated. performed a factory reset but once i restored it was back. i’ve gone through almost every app and I’m down to almost barebones default phone apps now. before the update the apps i do still have weren’t an issue. also now the play store wont let me download apps i was able to before.

Solution: If a factory reset does not fix the problem then one last software troubleshooting that you can do is to flash the phone with its previous firmware version. This will allow you to check if the update is causing the problem. You can flash the phone using Odin with a firmware file downloaded from the Sammobile website. Instructions on how to flash the phone are also available in this website.

In case the issue still persists then this could already be a hardware related problem in which case you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S7 Soft Keys Not Responding After Screen Replacement

Problem: We just recently replaced the front screen, and now it’s giving us two problems, 1) it gives us a “Charging paused; battery temperature too low” and we’ve tried warming it up a bit, and it’s not charging, 2) the soft keys do not turn on and are unresponsive

Solution: The best troubleshooting step that you can do right now is to backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete do not install any apps in your phone yet. Try checking first if the issue still occurs. If it does then this is most likely a hardware related problem already possibly caused by a loose connector or a faulty internal component. You should have this checked at a service center.

S7 Service Error Occurred Restart Camera

Problem: When I try to use my Samsung Galaxy S7 front camera a warning pops up and says “Service error occurred. Restart camera.” So I’ve tried restarting my camera, I’ve tried shutting off my phone, I’ve tried resetting my phone, I’ve tried clearing the cache on my phone, I tried deleting other apps connected to my camera and that almost worked but the camera was still not working correctly, (that seemed to be the closest thing to fixing it). I’ve done a hard reset on my phone and still doesn’t work. But I’ve noticed that if I shake my phone, that something rattles so I’m not sure if something inside my phone is broke or if it’s just my camera app that’s not working. So I am running out of ideas on how to fix my front facing selfie camera. Can you please help me?

Solution: If you have already performed a factory reset and the issue still occurs then this is most likely a hardware related problem already possibly caused by a faulty camera assembly. The best way to proceed in this case is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S7 Screen Is White Then Turns Off

Problem: I recently purchased a Samsung Galaxy S7 64 gig. The battery died a few days later I went to charge it and it will not turn on. The screen comes up in white then immediately turns off. When it’s on the charger it either vibrates quickly and the battery symbol appears with the lightning bolt in the center then goes away. It continues to do this. I tried a different charger and the battery and lightning bolt symbol just stays on. Any information on how to fix this or what’s wrong with it would be greatly appreciated . Thank you

Solution: What you will want to do first in this case is to make sure that the battery has sufficient charge by following the steps listed below.

  • Clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air making sure that any dirt or debris present in the port is removed.
  • Charge your phone for at least 20 minutes using a wall charger. If it doesn’t charge then try using a different charging cord and wall charger. You should also check if the phone can charge from a computer USB port.
  • Turn on the phone by pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds.

If the problem still persists then you should have this checked at a service center.
