LG G6 No Network Connection Error
Problem: I have a G6 that is only a few months old. Well taken care of, no damage. For some reason, it keeps losing the network. Happens for phone, texts, and internet. I get “no network connection” even where I know there’s a signal. I have been able to force it to connect by dialing 911 and quickly hanging up before the actual call goes through…it fixes the problem temporarily, but it keeps happening and is driving me nuts. Does not happen when connected to wifi. Help!
Solution: The first thing you need to do in this case is to eliminate the possibility of this problem being caused by a faulty SIM card. Insert your SIM card in another phone then check if the issue still occurs. If it does then you should try getting a new SIM card. In case the issue does not occur then insert the SIM card back to your phone then proceed with the troubleshooting steps listed below.
- Start the phone in Safe Mode then check if the issue occurs in this mode. In case it doesn’t then an app you downloaded might be causing this problem. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
- Try wiping the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode then check if the issue still occurs.
- Backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete immediately check if the issue still occurs.
If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you should bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
LG G6 Wi-Fi Switch Does Not Turn On
Problem: I have an LG G6 i have had no issues with my phone until yesterday. i use my home wifi for my phone. Yesterday i noticed it wasn’t turned on so I tried pushing the wifi button on the home screen and it still didn’t come on. I went into the wifi settings and tried to switch the wifi switch to on it showed that it was was trying to turn on but would always go back to the off position. i called and they walked me through a lot of steps and nothing worked. i was told to do a soft reset nothing and nothing. the cache wipe and a factory reset and nothing worked. they told me to go to at&t and have them look at it. it’s stuck on the wizard screen and the wifi still won’t switch on. Again they couldn’t fix it either and gave me a number to call Lg service center. A rep said he thought the problem was that they didn’t have me sign out of my gmail account before resetting the phone. But that didn’t have anything to do with it because they can’t pass the wifi screen to get to the email screen. i’m frustrated i drove almost 2 hrs for nothing. they had me reset it again today and nothing. So before i have to send it in because i don’t have another phone I’m desperate. Anything you can think of please let me know. Thanks .
Related Problem: The phone will not connect to Wi-Fi. We push the wifi button and it connects for a split second and then disconnects. We have restarted the phone and we have also powered off and turned the phone back on. It does not rectify the situation. This happens at our house and also at my son’s school, so it seems that it is the phone rather than a problem with our home network. Additionally, other devices in the house do not have issues connecting.
Solution: If you have already performed a factory reset and the Wi-Fi switch still does not turn on then this problem is most likely caused by a faulty Wi-Fi chip. The best thing to do right now is to have the phone checked at a service center. If it is found out that the Wi-Fi chip is not working anymore then this chip needs to be replaced.
LG G6 Wi-Fi Doesn’t Turn On
Problem: Hi, thanks for the help you guys offer in fixing phones. I have an unlocked LG G6, it has developed several problems that I am unable to fix following some of the solutions given in your page. 1. wifi doesn’t turn on i.e just shows turning on and never does. 2. SD card shows mount SD card no matter how many times i remove and re-insert the card. 3. Mic issues, when i call or receive a call, the person on the other end cannot hear me so I have resorted to using a bluetooth handsfree device. lastly peel smart remote no longer works with my devices i.e. tv and home theatre.
Solution: Since you are having multiple issues with the phone right now then the best thing you can do is to backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete do not install any apps in your phone yet. Try to check first if the issue still occurs. If it does then you will have to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked as this could already be caused by a faulty hardware component.
