Google Pixel Only Vibrates When Powering On After Getting Wet

Problem: I had recently dropped my phone in water it is a pixel and I love my phone and I don’t want to buy a new one it worked perfectly fine then it shut off then I charges it turned it on and couldn’t use the touchscreen then all it shut down and i charged it for about 2 days and it only showed that it was charging then one day I try to turn it on I see the google start up and it turn on. got it re activated and everything but it only worked for a day now I tried to charge it nothing appears only when I press the power button it vibrates.could it be the cables connecting to the screen and or battery?

Solution: It’s very likely that water has entered the phone damaging a component which then resulted in this problem. The best thing that you can do right now is to place the phone in a bag of rice for at least 48 hours. The rice will absorb the moisture inside the phone. Once this is done clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air then charge it for at least 20 minutes using a wall charger. Try turning on the phone once it has sufficient charge. In case the issue persists then the phone might already be water damaged in which case you will need to bring this to a service center and have it checked.

Google Pixel Randomly Enters Sleep Mode

Problem: Hello, I have the pixel. Bought it second hand from my brother almost a year ago. It’s in great condition, no scratches, breaks, dents, chips etc. A few months ago I started having issues when I went to turn my phone on after I charged it and put it to sleep, the screen would quickly turn on and then off before I could unlock it. It would take several tries before I could get it to stay on to unlock it. It doesn’t happen every time, about two/three times a month. Then today it suddenly started going to sleep in the middle of my using it. It would turn on when I hit the power button, then randomly shut back off. It seems so far to only happen during landscape mode. I’ve tried restarting it, running a check on my apps and device, soft reboot etc. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Solution: You can check if the problem is caused by a software glitch by following the troubleshooting steps listed below. After performing a step immediately check if the issue still occurs. If it does then proceed to the next step.

  • Restart the phone in Safe Mode then check if the issue occurs in this mode. If it doesn’t then the problem could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
  • Try wiping the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then this could already be caused by a faulty hardware component. The best thing to do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

Google Pixel Stuck On Bootloop

Problem: I have a pixel that I have been successfully using for two years.  I had a couple of temporary issues a couple of months ago and sporadically since but eventually got it to work and stay on. Unfortunately now it starts to boot up and vibrates and shows the Google screen but that’s where the problem starts. After that initial stage the screen goes off and vibrates when the same screen comes up again but never goes any further. Normally it would show the splash screen after that stage but it never reaches that.

Solution: The best thing that you can do right now is to attempt a factory reset in recovery mode. Take note that this will erase your phone data.

  • Make sure that the device is powered off.
  • Press and hold the Power + Volume Down buttons until bootloader mode (image of an Android with Start above it) appears, then release.
  • Select Recovery mode.
  • If presented with an image of a broken Android with “No Command” printed on the screen, press and hold the Power button. Press the Volume Up button once. Then release the Power button.
  • From the Android Recovery screen, select Wipe data/factory reset.
  • Select Yes.
  • Select Reboot system now.

If the issue still persists then this is most likely caused by a faulty hardware component. The best thing to do right now is to have the phone checked at a service center.

Google Pixel Charging Keeps On Connecting And Disconnecting

Problem: Hey, I have a pixel and my phone keep on repeating the charging sound when put into charge and the back gets warm. This also happen in safe mode.  The light flicker on a normal adapter when turned off and charges. But on a fast charging adapter it doesn’t seem to charge.

Solution: To fix this problem try cleaning the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air then use a different charging cord and wall charger to charge the phone. If the problem persists then this could be caused by a faulty charging port assembly. I recommend that you have this checked at a service center.
