Google Pixel 2 Battery Drains Quickly

Problem: I am using Pixel 2. From some days, I am facing issues related to battery. Battery started draining quickly (100% to 0% within 2 to 3 hours of usage). Sometimes, it happens that it automatically shuts down even if the battery is 85% or more. If I start it again it shows 0%. Sometimes it takes only 30 minutes to full charge and sometimes it takes more than 4,5 hours. What can be the cause? Should I replace my battery?

Solution: There’s a big possibility that the problem is already caused by a faulty battery. Before having this battery replaced at a service center you should first check if the problem is caused by a software glitch. Backup your phone data then do the following steps listed below.

  • Start the phone in Safe Mode then check if the problem occurs in this mode. If it doesn’t then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
  • Do a factory reset.

If the issue still persists even after performing the steps listed above then you should bring your phone to a service center and have the battery replaced.

Google Pixel 2 Not Turning On After Getting Wet

Problem: Hi there. My Pixel 2 phone was in my pocket while I was thigh-length in sea water. It got a bit wet around the charging port, but not soaked. However it now won’t turn on. The LED alert light is flashing (I think I had an alert when submerged). I’ve tried periodically turning it on, and sometimes the Google screen comes up before going black again. I’m on holiday so will do the bag of rice thing when I’m back home, but any other tips? Thanks!

Solution: Although this phone has a water resistant feature there are still instances when water can enter the device ( which is what most likely happened in this case) when the water seal of the phone has been broken. The best thing you can do right now is to place the phone in a bag of rice for at least 48 hours as the rice will absorb any moisture inside the phone. Once this is done try turning on the phone. If it still does not turn on then the device is most likely water damaged. The best thing you can do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

Google Pixel 2 Is Not Fast Charging

Problem: My Pixel 2 all of a sudden stopped fast charging, doesn’t matter what charger I use, and yes they are all Google fast charge OEM charges, please help

Solution: The first thing you will need to do in this case is to clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air. Make sure that any dirt or debris stuck in this port is removed. When charging the phone try to use a different USB Type C cable and a different 18W USB-C mains adapter that supports USB Power Delivery 2.0. In case the problem still occurs then backup your phone data and do a factory reset. This will allow you to check if a software glitch is causing the problem.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you should have the phone checked at a service center.

Google Pixel 2 Turns Off When Disconnected From Charger

Problem: my Pixel 2 works fine when connected to charger BUT when i disconnect it automatically turns off. i have already wiped cache data partition already factory reset and i upgraded to latest software version BUT nothing happened .take note that it just doesn’t turn off automatically but when i click some other icon then it turns off. PLEASE HELP

Solution: Since you have already performed a factory reset which does not fix the problem then this could either be caused by a faulty battery or power IC. The best thing you can do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

Google Pixel 2 Not Turning On After Battery Drained

Problem: hi there! so last time my phone ran out of battery and i don’t have a cable to charge to.. cable was with my brother..next morning i plugged in into the charge in run normal.. i was in a hurry so i switched it off so it will charge quickly.. after 20 30 mins i don’t switch on i tried everything but it did not respond……. help me out??????????????

Solution: Do you see a charging indicator when you charge the phone? If you don’t see the indicator then try cleaning the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air. You should also try using a different charging cord and wall charger to charge the phone. If the charging indicator appears then leave the phone charging for at least 20 minutes then try to turn on the device.

In case the issue persists then I suggest that you bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
