These offerings let you use the smartwatch independent of any smartphone, which means you can make and receive calls or even send texts and/or leave a reply cancel it before it is sent. To note, not all smartwatches need smartphones to be of used. Most of them also give users the option to check their social media accounts like Facebook Twitter and more. Given that finding these wearables can often be a tough task, we’ve decided to compile a list of some of the best smartwatches that offer a SIM card slot.

We will cover a wide range of smartwatches in this list, including popular and somewhat underrated wearables to give you more to choose from.

Let’s take a look at some of the best smartwatches with SIM cards available right now.

Best Smartwatches With SIM Card Slot

1. Apple Watch Series 7

The Apple Watch has been the industry leader as far as smartwatches are concerned, and it’s no surprise that the Series 7 features on top of our list. The new Series 7 much like the variants before it, comes with a SIM card slot as long as you choose the GPS + cellular option. But be sure to have your Apple ID ( name email address ) and password on hand when activating the cellular service on this wearable. Apple offers the wearable in 41mm and 45mm variants, thus offering something for everyone.

Apple has made some big changes with the 7th gen Apple Watch, particularly with regards to the display. The Apple Watch series 7 still offers an always-on OLED capacitive touch screen. While this may take its toll on battery life, it makes the wearable work independently and available at all times. Indeed, one of the best standalone smartwatches with SIM card slot today.

Speaking of battery, Apple mentions that the Series 7 can run for up to 18 hours without needing a charge, making it suitable for a full day’s use without interruptions.

Apple also offers a neat wireless charger with the wearable that can juice up the smartwatch fairly quickly. The Series 7 is water resistant and comes with water resistance built-in (up to 50 meters) which makes it suitable for swimming and other water-related activities. Apple even offers a dedicated swim tracker feature to track your aquatic workouts.

Unlike any other standalone watches that only comes with 16 GB internal storage, the 7th gen Apple Watch has 32GB of internal storage with the ability to store playlists and music from your favorite app. The wearable uses Apple’s S7 SiP with 64-bit dual-core processor under the hood. The front glass of the Apple Watch is made of Sapphire Glass while the back has a ceramic layer to make it durable against regular use. The Apple Watch Series 7 comes in a wide range of colors and styles, including Stainless Steel and Aluminum with a large collection of first and third-party bands to choose from.

2. Pradory Smartwatch

This is a fairly obscure smartwatch brand that’s not known to a lot of people but still comes with a wide range of features onboard. This wearable runs a custom OS by default but is compatible with almost every Android smartphone as well as iPhones. It even has a digital crown like the Apple Watch and a power button to turn the display on/off. Since it comes with a SIM card slot, you can just as easily use your existing number or sign up for a new one with your local carrier (can be 2G 3G or LTE capable SIM). You can consider this wearable as a smartwatch phone , making phone calls and sending text messages without getting hold of your smartphone.

What I like about this wearable is the fact that it comes with a fairly decent battery life. The company mentions that it can last between 5-7 days on a full charge, which is something that not all smartwatches can offer today. Moreover, charging the smartwatch fully only takes around 30 minutes, so you’re ready to go in no time. It must be noted, however, that frequent use of the wearable may bring down battery life significantly.

The wearable runs on Bluetooth 4.0 by default, which is slightly disappointing given that most new wearables today come with Bluetooth 5.0. Fortunately, the wearable manages to offer a range of up to 33 feet which should be good enough for any user. It uses a 1.54-inch LCD panel with a 2.5D glass and a resolution of 240 x 240 pixels. This wearable is water resistant and comes with features like sleep monitoring, thus adding to its long list of features. Make sure to have a closer look at this smart watch with the SIM card slot.

3. WJPILIS Smart Watch

This standalone smartwatch with SIM looks eerily similar to the offering we spoke of above, but that’s only because they both use square shaped displays. But this is where the similarities end as the wearable also comes with a camera on the front, allowing you to use this independently of a smartphone. Naturally, it can also pair with your Android or iOS device via Bluetooth with a wide range of smartphones and tablets said to be compatible with the offering.

It runs an independent operating system, so you won’t get access to the wide range of apps and services that come with Android. However, the smartwatch can send you real time notifications from smartwatch apps like WhatsApp, Viber, and so on. When a SIM is inserted into the wearable, it can allow you to make or receive calls as well as text messages. The company also offers a microSD card slot with this watch, allowing you to store content natively.

The company mentions that the battery life of the smartwatch can range from 1 to 2 days and that it can fully charge itself within a couple of hours. This, in comparison to some popular wearables like the Apple Watch which runs out of juice in less than a day. But on the downside, it doesn’t have the features that we see on the Apple Watch.

Unfortunately, the manufacturer doesn’t mention water resistance anywhere on the listing, so it is recommended to keep this away from water at all times. Watch faces can be customized extensively, so there’s no dearth of options for the customers. Sleep monitoring is included as well, which helps with getting a detailed analysis of your sleep quality over a period of time. Buy It Now: Amazon

4. Evershop Smart Watch

This is one of the better looking third-party smartwatches we’ve come across, and that’s thanks primarily to the circular display used by the manufacturer here. It apparently uses a 1.5-inch IPS display with a resolution of 240 x 240 pixels, which makes it fairly identical to a few other wearables on this list.

What’s really impressive about this wearable is the fact that it can reportedly last for up to 7 days on a single charge. This comfortably makes it one of the longest-lasting smartwatches on this list. The feat is even more impressive when we consider the fact that it comes with a SIM card slot as well as a microSD card slot for music/media storage natively.

The company mentions that there are only four watch faces to choose from, which is a bit of a letdown given what its rivals can offer. The wearable runs a custom OS, which means you probably won’t have access to smartwatch apps like on the Apple Watch or Samsung’s Galaxy Watch Active 2 which we’ll talk about below.

But if all you’re looking for is a good looking smartwatch that can make calls and send texts on its own, this offering will fit the bill perfectly. The maker offers this wearable in Gold and Black colors. The next time you think of buying the best smartwatch which need a SIM Card, you might consider getting Evershop Smart Watch.

5. Galaxy Watch 4

Samsung is not too far behind Apple in terms of smartwatch tech and software although the market share may suggest otherwise. The Galaxy Watch 4 is one of the Samsung Gear Wearables and is a stellar smartwatch with an attractive and bright circular 1.4-inch Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 450 x 450 pixels. This is a minor bump from its predecessor which had a 1.1-inch display.

This wearable has various exceptional features that other smartwatch with SIM card like 1 Apple Watch Series doesn’t have. This includes the  built-in sleep tracker and the very relevant Goodnight mode.

Unlike a few other popular smartwatches, the Galaxy Watch 4 is OS-agnostic, which means it can run on both Android and iOS devices. The wearable uses Samsung’s custom Tizen OS which offers deep integration with Samsung and non-Samsung devices accordingly.

Samsung mentions that the Galaxy Watch 4 offers a battery life of 40 hours with regular use, which is only marginally better than its key rival in the industry, the Apple Watch.

The wearable + charger combo offered by the company can be juiced up wirelessly using Qi-compatible charging stations. If you own a Samsung smartphone, you can also provide a quick charge to the smartwatch using the company’s proprietary wireless power share feature.

This wearable comes with a SIM card slot and is compatible with 4G LTE as well. The listing mentions that the wearable is unlocked to work with any GSM carrier in the U.S., so you should have no problems with regard to compatibility. The wearable comes with a dedicated heart rate monitor which keeps a tab on your cardiac health and alerts you when you’re over the normal limit. The Galaxy Watch 4 is available in Black, Gold and Silver variants with the choice of an Aluminum or Stainless Steel body.

6. 321OU Smartwatch

Much like some of the other smartwatches that we spoke about above, the 321OU comes with a familiar square-shaped display spanning 1.3-inches. While you can use this wearable as a companion to your primary mobile phones — the company also offers a SIM card slot, which lets you use this primarily for phone calls and text messages. But isn’t mentioned what type of Smartwatch SIM card this wearable is compatible with ( whether it’s a Nano sim or micro SIM card ).

Since it runs a custom operating system, it cannot handle smartwatch specific apps, which means it’s probably better suited to be used as a companion device with your smartphone. In this scenario, users get access to notifications from all first and third-party apps including the likes of Instagram, WhatsApp, and so on.

The maker specifies that third-party app notifications may be limited to Android smartphones, which is bad news if you own an iPhone. The wearable also comes with its own 0.3MP camera onboard making it suitable to be used as your primary device in lieu of a smartphone (if you have inserted a SIM card).

The manufacturer has been mindful enough to include features like sleep monitoring, calorie tracking, steps counter (pedometer), as well as an exercise mileage counter. This smart watch with SIM card is suitable for both men and women, and there are no color options available at the moment.

7. Apple Watch Series 5

The Apple Watch has been the industry leader as far as smartwatches are concerned, and it’s no surprise that the Series 7 features on top of our list. The Series 5, much like the variants before it, comes with a SIM card slot as long as you choose the GPS + cellular option. But be sure to have your Apple ID ( name email address ) and password on hand when activating the cellular service on this wearable. Apple offers the wearable in 40mm and 44mm variants, thus offering something for everyone.

Apple has made some big changes with the 5th gen Apple Watch, particularly with regards to the display. For the first time, the Apple Watch now offers an always-on OLED capacitive touch screen. While this may take its toll on battery life, it makes the wearable work independently and available at all times. Indeed, one of the best standalone smartwatches with SIM card slot today.

Speaking of battery, Apple mentions that the Series 5 can run for up to 18 hours without needing a charge, making it suitable for a full day’s use without interruptions.

  1. hello anyone?
i posted this request back in march and so far no one answered.
i need a reliable quality stand alone watch phone with a sim card slot.
i am not interested in A N Y apps, or features beside ability to send and receive txt messages and calling.
watch has to have the LTE sim card slot to be able to make LOCAL (pay as you go) calls in europe, and north america.
All apple and samsung watchphones are crippled to work only in europe or in north america and are unable to operate with a pay-as-you go sim, not to mention they require a smartphone to set it up.
I want a STANDALONE LTE watchphone that operates with a local sim card anywhere in the world just like an old unlocked candybar or flip phone.

  2. I am a Dutchman living for 45 years in Vancouver BC Canada.
I have iphone6+, and Google Pixel smartphones, and i hate them both. So I use my candy-bar UNLOCKED cellphone with all 3G Global frequencies.
I don’t want ANY apps, or data-plan, all i need is just phone and text.
At home, I insert my Rogers pay-as-you-go SIM, and i have a local number. When i run out of money, i add $50.
Similarly, in England in London, I insert my Lyca UK pay-as-you-go SIM, put on 20 pounds, and my English family can call me without making the transatlantic phone call while i am in a local pub !
When in Amsterdam, i pay 20 Euro to my Dutch Vodaphone prepaid SIM card, and my family in Amsterdam doesn’t have to make the transatlantic call while i am in local Starbucks. If i run out of money i add another 20 euro.
When i am in Paris, i insert my Orange SIM card, add 20 euro, and i have a local number so my friends don’t have to make transatlantic call when i am having lunch in the local restaurant. When i am in Prague Czech republic, i insert my O2 SIM, pay 20 euro, and have a local number. When i am in the USA in Seattle, i insert my Ting Sim card, pay $50 and i have a local number.
SADLY, 3G service is being discontinued, it already stopped working in the USA.
And although it still works in Canada and Europe, my candybar cellphone is on notice, and i will have to replace it.
I’d like to have a wristwatch phone with THIS kind of flexibility.
I was hoping that a watchphone such as google pixel2 LTE or samsung Galaxy6 classic LTE (after the setup) can serve with the same flexibility. [ i do know the apple watch ultra LTE is just an appendage, crippled to be dependent on the iphone even though its lte, and further, one MUST buy a dataplan even if i have no use for any of the apps, all i want is an independent cellphone]
Under the circumstances, i am stuck to look for an LTE flip phone such as Alcatel and others? I do not care about the price, $1,000 is ok, provided it has the identical flexibility like my current candybar cellphone?
