  1. hello anyone?
i posted this request back in march and so far no one answered.
i need a reliable quality stand alone watch phone with a sim card slot.
i am not interested in A N Y apps, or features beside ability to send and receive txt messages and calling.
watch has to have the LTE sim card slot to be able to make LOCAL (pay as you go) calls in europe, and north america.
All apple and samsung watchphones are crippled to work only in europe or in north america and are unable to operate with a pay-as-you go sim, not to mention they require a smartphone to set it up.
I want a STANDALONE LTE watchphone that operates with a local sim card anywhere in the world just like an old unlocked candybar or flip phone.

  2. I am a Dutchman living for 45 years in Vancouver BC Canada.
I have iphone6+, and Google Pixel smartphones, and i hate them both. So I use my candy-bar UNLOCKED cellphone with all 3G Global frequencies.
I don’t want ANY apps, or data-plan, all i need is just phone and text.
At home, I insert my Rogers pay-as-you-go SIM, and i have a local number. When i run out of money, i add $50.
Similarly, in England in London, I insert my Lyca UK pay-as-you-go SIM, put on 20 pounds, and my English family can call me without making the transatlantic phone call while i am in a local pub !
When in Amsterdam, i pay 20 Euro to my Dutch Vodaphone prepaid SIM card, and my family in Amsterdam doesn’t have to make the transatlantic call while i am in local Starbucks. If i run out of money i add another 20 euro.
When i am in Paris, i insert my Orange SIM card, add 20 euro, and i have a local number so my friends don’t have to make transatlantic call when i am having lunch in the local restaurant. When i am in Prague Czech republic, i insert my O2 SIM, pay 20 euro, and have a local number. When i am in the USA in Seattle, i insert my Ting Sim card, pay $50 and i have a local number.
SADLY, 3G service is being discontinued, it already stopped working in the USA.
And although it still works in Canada and Europe, my candybar cellphone is on notice, and i will have to replace it.
I’d like to have a wristwatch phone with THIS kind of flexibility.
I was hoping that a watchphone such as google pixel2 LTE or samsung Galaxy6 classic LTE (after the setup) can serve with the same flexibility. [ i do know the apple watch ultra LTE is just an appendage, crippled to be dependent on the iphone even though its lte, and further, one MUST buy a dataplan even if i have no use for any of the apps, all i want is an independent cellphone]
Under the circumstances, i am stuck to look for an LTE flip phone such as Alcatel and others? I do not care about the price, $1,000 is ok, provided it has the identical flexibility like my current candybar cellphone?
