Playstation Network (PSN) has provided a 2-step verification process to protect a user’s online accounts. This additional layer of security will keep your account secured. Things to Do Before Activating the 2-Step Verification on PS4
Before activating the PSN 2-Step Verification feature, ensure that you are connected to the internet and you have an account on Playstation Network. If you do, log out your PSN account on all of your devices and take note of your PSN ID and password to set up the activation completely.
How to Activate the PSN 2-Step Verification on PS4

The 2 -step verification (2SV) protects players’ PSN accounts from anyone who attempts to access it without their knowledge. Once activated, the owner of the account gets notified and receives a text message with the verification code to enter after signing in. The steps are provided below.
Go to the Home Screen of your PS4.
It's where you can find your games and other otpions.Select Settings.
It's an icon that looks like a toolbox.Select Account Management.
It's usually the fourth option from the top.Select Account Information next.
This will show some information about your PlayStation account.Click Security.
This will bring you to account security settings.Login to your account.
Make sure to enter your correct ID and password.Select 2-Step Verification.
The 2-Step verification is more secure than just using a password to log in.Select Set Up Now.
This will bring you to the next screen.Enter your mobile number.
Please ensure to enter the correct number as this is where the verification code will be sent.
Click Add.
Then you will receive a text message with the verification code on your phone.
Enter the verification code you have received on your mobile phone.
After you have entered the verification code on your PS4, another text message will be sent to your phone to confirm that the PSN 2-step verification is fully activated.
Click OK.
Do this after you have read the information found on the screen. Select the best option for you.
Generate single-use backup codes.
This is necessary in case your mobile phone is acting up and can’t receive text, damage, lost or battery empty.
-Go to 2-Step Verification.
-Select Backup codes that you can easily remember but hard to guess by anyone.

After the PSN 2-step verification is activated, you should be able to receive a verification code every time you login to your account in any of your devices.
How to Deactivate 2-Step Verification on your PS4
If you need to deactivate the 2-Step Verification on your PS4 because of certain circumstances, follow these steps.
- Go to the Home Screen of your PS4.
- Select Account Management.
- Select Account Information.
- Select Security.
- Select 2-Step Verification.
- Select Status.
- Select Inactive from the drop-down menu.
- Select Confirm.
A text message will be sent to the phone number associated with your PS4 confirming the deactivation of 2-step verification.
IMPORTANT: We highly recommend that you keep your account highly secured using 2-Step verification all the time. If you want to remove your current number, make sure to replace it with a new one as soon as possible.
