S7 System UI Has Stopped

Problem: When ever I power up my Galaxy s7 active it either turns on to a black screen with a note that says “System UI has stopped.” or it just reboots before it can get there. Is there anyway I can fix this. Also I have some pictures from a recent trip that aren’t backed up with google is there any way to recover them?

Solution: For this particular problem you should try starting your phone in Safe Mode. When the phone operates in this mode only the pre-installed apps are allowed to run. If the problem does not occur in this mode then it is most likely caused by an app you downloaded. You should find out what app this is and uninstall it. You can backup your phone data from here.

You should also try the following.

  • Go to Settings
  • Tap on More then Application Manager
  • Change the list to All
  • Search for Google App then select uninstall updates.

In case the issue persists then try wiping the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode. You won’t lose your phone data when you do this.

S7 Converts SMS To MMS

Problem: Hi I’ve been having an issue with my phone lately, when I send a sms message after typing 160 characters my phone auto converts it to mms, although I’d like to turn off auto conversion and allow my phone to split the text.. When I go through the messages settings there is no setting to turn off auto conversion, I’ve tried everything from updating the phone, to resetting cache, to other things. Is there anyway you could help with with this, there is supposed to be a setting but there is not. Is there another way I could turn off auto conversion? Thanks in advanced

Solution: You should try the following settings which should fix the problem.

  • Launch the Messages app.
  • Tap More settings icon at the upper right hand side (three-dot icon).
  • Tap Settings.
  • Tap More settings.
  • Tap Multimedia messages.
  • Tap Set Restrictions and select Free.

S7 Camera Not Recording Videos

Problem: My Samsung S7 camera app is playing up. When I press the video button the video screen comes up but no recording. The square stop button won’t work, so it’s the back button to get back to camera. Also when I press on the circle to view the last photograph taken, that doesn’t work. What to do?

Solution: Try clearing the cache and data of the camera app from the application manager. In case the issue still persists then proceed with the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Start the phone in Safe Mode. Check if the issue occurs in this mode. If it doesn’t then it could be caused by a downloaded app. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
  • Wipe the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode.
  • If the photos and videos are saved in the microSD card then try changing the save location to the internal storage. If the issue does not occur then you should get a new microSD card.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

S7 Volume Up Button Not Working

Problem: The volume up button is not working, but the volume on my phone continues to go up, which is very inconvenient, since the phone continuously notifies me that the volume is being increased.

Solution: It looks like this is a hardware related problem already possibly caused by a stuck volume up button. To check if this is the case try to backup your phone data then do a factory reset. If the issue still occurs after the reset then you should bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S7 Recovery Is Not Seandroid Enforcing Error

Problem: Hi Androidguys.  Further to previous message about a suddenly overheating S7, I am now seeing the following error message on the boot screen: RECOVERY IS NOT SEANDROID ENFORCING
And when I try to restore a backup using TWRP 3.2.2. I see a lot of red script along the lines of
Could not mount /data and unable to find crypto footer
Could not mount ‘/data’ (Invalid argument)
Unable to recreate /data/media folder
Updating partition details…
Failed to mount ‘/data’ Invalid Argument)
Unable to mount storage
Failed to mount ‘/data’ Invalid Argument)
Full SELinux support is present.
Unable to mount /data/media/TWRP/.twrps
MTP Enabled
Hangs.

Solution: The first thing that you need to do in this case is to start the phone in recovery mode then do a factory reset. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data. If this does not fix the problem then you will have to flash the phone with its stock firmware file using Odin. You can get the firmware file from the Sammobile website which is also where you can get the instructions on how to flash your phone.

S7 Will Only Charge From Computer USB Port

Problem: I have troubleshooted my phone in all ways by cleaning the port factory reset aND ALL  but my phone will only charge when it is plugged into a pc port on my computer. i have tried 5 different usb cords and 4 different blocks and multiple locations in my house and to make sure it was not the block i even used other devices to see if they would charge off of those blocks which they do in all the outlets in the house which all work. i even tried plugging phone in the car charger and the phone will only charge thru a pc. i have not tried wireless charging as of yet. is there any ideas how to get phone to work properly this issues started randomly yesterday.

Solution: This issue is usually caused by a faulty pin in the charging port of the phone. Try cleaning the charging port flirts with a can of compressed air making sure that any dirt or debris stuck in it is removed. If the issue still persists then you should consider having the charging port of the phone replaced at a service center.

S7 Screen Is Black

Problem: Screen is black. After charging overnight it would not stay powered up. I have never been able to do an update on this phone. It always says it was interrupted. So I tried your tip of using the volume up, Home. And then power key, and tried emptying the cache. It said it was emptying the cache but then went black and has not come back on. I tried doing the same thing above and do the reboot but that did nothing. No issues last night but now nothing. I am traveling in Mexico and my phone is my map and my reservation system etc. I am hoping you can help me soon so we can continue to travel!!!

Solution:  For this particular problem the first thing that you need to do is to make sure that the battery of the phone has sufficient charge. Clean the charging port of the phone first using a can of compressed air then charge it for at least 20 minutes using a wall charger. If your phone has a microSD card installed then remove it. Turn on the phone by pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you need to have this checked at a service center as this could already be caused by a faulty hardware component.
