S7 Edge Not Receiving Text Messages From iPhone
Problem: Hi I am not receiving texts from anyone who has a iPhone since I swapped my old iPhone 4 to my new samsung s7 edge keeping same number.. what can i do!? I did a reset on my older phones since kids still play with them and I was receiving my texts on the old one! When it’s at home with WiFi of course, but I’m missing a ton of people’s texts, need help! Thanks
Solution: If your previous phone was an iPhone and you are not able to get text messages from other iPhone users right now with your S7 Edge then this is most likely caused by your iMessage subscription still being active. You will need to deregister from this service to fix the problem.
If you have your iPhone with you
- Place your SIM card back to your iPhone.
- Make sure the phone is connected to a cellular data network.
- Tap Settings > Messages and turn off iMessage.
If you don’t have your iPhone with you
- Go to this website https://selfsolve.apple.com/deregister-imessage/
- Enter your phone number
- Enter the 6 digit confirmation code sent to your phone number to deregister from the service.
S7 Edge Takes Too Long to Send Text Message
Problem: I have trouble sometimes receiving and sending texts to my wife’s Galaxy S7 Edge . When I send, the little circle spins for between 10-30 seconds before the text goes thru, and many times she doesn’t get the text. Also, I’m not getting MMS from her phone anymore, I get some weird icon saying message could not be downloaded. It only happens with her, all other texts are OK. This only started a few weeks ago, everything was working perfect before. Could this have anything to do with the AT&T updates we install periodically?
Solution: The first thing that you should do for this particular issue is to clear the cache and data of the text messaging app. This will clear out any corrupt data that could be causing this problem. In case the issue still occurs then proceed with the steps listed below.
Make sure that your phone has the correct APN settings.
- Name: NXTGENPHONE
- APN: NXTGENPHONE
- Proxy: Not set
- Port: Not set
- Username: Not set
- Password: Not set
- Server: Not set
- MMSC: http://mmsc.mobile.att.net
- MMS proxy: proxy.mobile.att.net
- MMS port: 80
- MCC: 310
- MNC: 410
- Authentication Type: None
- APN type: default,mms,supl,hipri d
- APN protocol: IPv4
- Bearer: Unspecified
You should also make sure that the phone has an active mobile data subscription and that you are getting a good mobile data signal.
In case the issue persists then you should consider doing a factory reset to refresh the phone software. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset.
S7 Edge Verizon Message+ New Message Glitch
Problem: Hi, A weird glitch started a week ago with just one text recipient. I texted under her name, but her response came back under a new text with the heading “New Message” and a grey group icon. Then, I noticed my “send” texts moved to that same weird New Message heading. When I click on the heading, it shows “No Recipients: No recipients are specified for the conversation, please try again.” I now have to send my messages through her real name, and receive her responses through the “new message” heading, which doesn’t let me type into the message box. It also doesn’t let me send videos and has a hard time with photos. It’s only the one recipient and it also doesn’t seem to be a problem in “Samsung Messages”, it’s only occurring in Verizon Message+. Thanks in advance for any help. Sincerely
Solution: To fix this problem you should make sure that the Verizon Message+ app is updated. You should also try clearing the cache and data of this app from the application manager to fix this problem.
S7 Edge Not Showing If Text Message Has Been Delivered
Problem: I’m no longer able to see if my text message was delivered when viewing message details. And also, in details, now the type is always described as “chat” even if I know it was a regular phone to phone text message NOT using some chat service. My phone is a Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge. Thank you
Solution: It’s very likely that the text messages that are sent and received are done through a group chat. This is possible even if you are using the stock messaging app of the phone. You can fix this by deleting the message thread then compose a new text message and send it as an sms.
