S6 Screen Keeps Lighting Up In Sleep Mode

Problem: My screen keeps lighting up after I put it into sleep mode and it will not stop. It does this all day long and drains the battery. Any tips of how to fix that?

Related Problem: I recently got a phone from my insurance company and have had nothing but problems with it. The screen will not stop turning itself on and off. I put it in sleep and the screen lights back up and it drains my battery. How can I get this issue fixed? -Thanks

Solution: What you will want to do first in when your phone screen keeps turning itself on and off is to check if it is caused by an app you installed. To do this just start your phone in Safe Mode. When your phone works in this mode only the pre-installed apps are allowed to run. Check if the issue occurs in this mode. If it doesn’t then there’s a chance that it could be caused by an app you  downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.

Should the issue still occur even in Safe Mode then your other option is to do a factory reset. Just make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset. Once the reset is complete don’t install any apps yet. Try to check first if the issue still occurs. If it does then You will have to bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Screen Not working After Phone Dropped

Problem: I had my phone in my pocket connected to my portable charger for around an hour. I take my phone out of my pocket and proceed to accidentally drop it flat on its back, camera side down. I had my tech21 case and sticky phone wallet on the wallet to absorb most of the shock. The screen automatically goes black and a solid, blue LED light turned on and stayed on. It also wouldn’t charge for a while. Since then the LED sometimes goes off until I put it on the wireless charger, sometimes switches red but mostly just stays blue.

Solution: The drop might have damaged the display assembly or it might have loosened the connection between the display assembly and the motherboard. What you can do on your end right now is to try to start the phone in recovery mode. If the screen works in this mode then the problem could be caused by a software glitch. You will have to do a factory reset in this mode. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data so make sure to have a backup copy before proceeding.

If the issue remains even in recovery mode or if you are unable to access the recovery mode then I suggest that you bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Screen Went Black

Problem: Daughter was playing a game on my galaxy s6 active when the screen went black I’ve tried everything from soft reboot to plugging in and charging the cell. Nothing is working the little lite on the top will blink blue and sometime when you hold in the poster key it’s flashes white but that’s it.

Related Problem: Galaxy S6 Blue light on constantly Screen not working Have tried rebooting by holding down all buttons Screen randomly flashes some colour down the very left of the screen Looks like it will charge as when hold down all buttons the light changes from red to green however when turn back on after this the screen still stays blank and the blue light is shown constantly again

Solution: Try simulating a battery pull on your phone first by pressing and holding the power button and volume down button for at least 10 seconds. Normally your phone should restart after this.

If the issue still occurs then try the following troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Clean the charging port of your phone using a can of compressed air. Make sure to remove any dirt or debris stuck in this port.
  • Charge your phone for at least 20 minutes using a different charging cord and wall charger. Check if the phone turns on.
  • If the phone does not turn on then try starting the phone in recovery mode. If you can access this mode then attempt to wipe the cache partition first then restart the device. If this doesn’t work then you will have to do a factory reset in recovery mode. Take note that this will erase your phone data so make sure to have a backup copy of your data.

If the above steps fail to fix the problem then you should bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.
