S6 Error Code 410 Update Failed

Problem: I got an alert for an update today. I started the update and it processed all the way through and rebooted the phone as usual. Then I get the msg that the update failed, code 410. If I look for a system update, I’m told the phone is up to date….?????? , 100% charge, very strong wifi.

Solution: the error 410 that you get when updating your phone could be caused by several factors. We have listed these factors below.

  • Your phone is rooted or running on a custom software.
  • The firmware update is no longer available from the carrier.
  • The phone has a corrupt software that is interfering with the update process.

To fix this problem what you should do first is to make sure that your phone is not rooted and is not running on a custom software. Perform the steps listed below.

  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Check if you are now able to update the phone software.
  • Try using Smart Switch to update your phone.

If the update still does not push through then I suggest that you manually flash the updated firmware file using Odin. You can get the file from the Sammobile website which is also where you can get the instructions on how to flash your phone.

S6 Black Screen With White LED Light

Problem: My Samsung S6 I shut off at night to charge phone and the next morning I went to turn on and nothing . Never had an issue with it till now So after a few days I put it on my Samsung charging pod the light turns blue like it charging up Took it off charging and hit the power and up volume key by accident meant to hit the down volume key with power key NOW I have a white light where the notification blue light normally is But it’s on So I’m hopeful there’s hope for my phone . Please Help I love my S6 and currently switched my service to another phone

Solution: To fix this problem the first thing you will want to do is to clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air. Once this is done charge the phone for at least 20 minutes using a different charging cord and wall charger. You should also check if the phone can charge from a computer USB port. Turn on the phone by pressing the power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds. If the phone does not start then.this might already be caused by a hardware component that is failing to work. The best thing to do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Reinstall Software

Problem: Galaxy S6 phone started to freeze. After several lower level fixes, I tried to restore to factory.  It said erasing for hours. held down button & power to shut phone off.  Tried up > home > power and this screen will no longer come up.  I need to reinstall Android OS.  How can I do this? I cannot access OS type so am guessing.

Solution: Before going ahead an reinstalling the phone software I suggest that you perform the troubleshooting steps listed below as it might just fix the problem.

  • Clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air then charge your phone for at least 20 minutes.
  • Start the phone in recovery mode then from here perform the factory reset. Take note that this will erase your phone data.

In case the issue persists then you will need to flash your phone with its updated stock firmware file using Odin. You will need to download the specific firmware file for your phone from the Sammobile website.

To flash your phone

  • Extract  the downloaded firmware file to your computer
  • Download the latest Odin version
  • Extract Odin ZIP file
  • Open Odin
  • Reboot Phone in Download Mode (press and hold Home + Power + Volume Down buttons)
  • Connect phone to your computer and wait until you get a blue sign in Odin
  • Add the firmware file to AP / PDA
  • Make sure re-partition is NOT ticked
  • Click the start button
  • The update should finish in a few minutes

S6 Running On Android Nougat Not Pairing With Car Bluetooth

Problem: I received a new Samsung Galaxy S6, this one has the Android version 7.0, while the other phone had a different firmware version (I think it was Marshmallow or some other version). The lost S6 phone paired easily with the car’s (2009 BMW) bluetooth. This S6 will not pair with the car’s bluetooth. I’ve tried every step I have learned to do: wiping cache, deleting paired phones in car, soft reset of phone without doing a hard reset. I read that downgrading the firmware to Android 6.0 marshmallow could possibly solve this, however I do not want to void my warranty. I have also paired my new phone with a different vehicle and it works just fine. Would you know how else to resolve this issue?  Thank you.

Solution: Does the car have a Bluetooth button that you can press? If it does then press and hold on this for 10 seconds then release it. You should see a blinking light on the car system. This means that the car is now searching for another Bluetooth device. On your phone try searching for the car Bluetooth then connect to it. This should fix the problem.

S6 Microphone Not Working After Charging Port Replacement

Problem: Hello! I just replaced my battery and the charging port, but now my microphone doesn’t work. The phone wouldn’t charge using the port, which is why i replaced it, but the microphone was working fine. I was keeping the phone in use by using the wireless charging capability. Anyway, I’ve looked around and can’t seem to find what the issue is. A friend suggested that I make sure the microphone is correctly aligned, but I’m not sure what that means. I can’t seem to pinpoint just exactly where the microphone component is relative to the part I installed. Please help! How frustrating to fix one problem and create another 🙁 I’m not entirely sure what version of android it is, but It is up to date with any recent updates.

Solution: If you replaced the whole charging port assembly then this also contains the microphone which might be defective. Try placing your phone on speaker mode then make a call. If the person on the other end can hear you then the microphone on the charging port assembly is faulty. You will need to either replace the microphone or get another charging port assembly.

S6 Keeps Freezing And Restarting

Problem: I have a Samsung S6 Active and it keeps freezing and restarting on its own.  Sometimes it may work fine for a few days then go on the fritz again. I have tried everything I can possibly do to fix the error and nothing has seemed to work.  If I need to send this phone to a technician i will just need to know where I need to send it to. Please help. I am currently working off a J3 but would really like to have my old phone back.

Solution: The best thing that you can do in this particular case is to backup your phone data then do a factory reset from the recovery mode. Once this is done do not install any apps in your phone yet. Try checking first if the issue still occurs. If it does then you will have to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked as this could already be a hardware related problem.
