Q: Can I remove the battery from my Galaxy S6 Edge?

A: Like the S6 flat variant, the new Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge is a uni-body device with an internal battery that cannot be removed. In short, this phone is designed with a non-removable battery type.

In this regard, please contact your service provider (carrier) or an authorized Samsung repair agent if you really need to remove or replace the battery. Please note that any damage or faults caused by unauthorized removal of the battery will not be covered by the warranty and likewise, charges for battery replacement may also apply.

How to Install the SIM card on the Galaxy S6 Edge?

Follow these steps to install the SIM card on your new S6 Edge handset:

  1. Start by inserting the ejection pin into the hole located on the SIM card tray to loosen the tray. Make sure the ejection pin is perpendicular to the hole to prevent causing any damage.
  2. Gently pull out the SIM card tray from the SIM card tray slot.
  3. Now, carefully place the SIM card on the SIM card tray. Be sure to have the gold-colored contacts faced downwards.
  4. When the SIM card is secured, insert the SIM card tray back into the SIM card tray slot.

Note: Be sure to tightly close the tray to prevent water and dust from entering the device.

How to Remove the SIM card from the Galaxy S6 Edge?

To remove the SIM card from the Galaxy S6 Edge, follow these steps:

  1. Use the ejection pin to loosen the tray. Insert the pin into the hole on the SIM card tray slot. Again, make sure the ejection pin is perpendicular to the hole to avoid causing any damage on the SIM card tray slot or device itself.
  2. When the tray is lose, gently pull it out from the SIM card tray slot.
  3. Now, remove the SIM card.

How to initially set up the Galaxy S6 Edge using Setup Wizard?

Typically, you will be prompted with the setup wizard the first time you turn on your new device. As the name implies, this tool will help you set up your device and make it ready for use.

Please note that the setup wizard options may vary depending on your network or phone carrier.

Follow these steps to complete the initial setup:

  1. If prompted, Tap English then select your desired language.
  2. To adjust any necessary accessibility settings, tap Accessibility.
  3. Move to the next screen by tapping the yellow arrow.
  4. Tap the Wi-Fi switch to turn on or enable Wi-Fi and tap an available network to connect to, if desired.
  5. Tap Next to proceed.
  6. When prompted, read the Terms and Conditions for the End user license, then tap Next.
  7. Tap Agree to confirm that you agree to the Terms and Conditions.
  8. If a compatible device is available, tap the Learn more option to find out more about Tap & Go to setup the phone. If you are not using Tap & Go, then tap Skip instead.
  9. On the Add your Account section, to log into your Google account, tap on either (a) Enter your email (for existing) or (b) Create a New Account (for new).

If you choose to Enter your email, follow these steps:

  1. Enter your password then tap Next.
  2. Read the Google & Location information and tap the Accept arrow to continue.
  3. On the Get your Apps & Data section, choose the previous device you want to restore from and select from the list of apps, and then tap Next.
  4. Read through the Google services options on the Google services section, and tap Next to continue.

You will be prompted with the Restoring screen while the phone connects to Google servers to download your information. Just wait for it to complete the entire download process.

If you choose to Create a New Account, follow these steps:

  1. Enter your name in the First and Last fields (optional).
  2. Tap the Next arrow to continue.
  3. Enter a username you prefer to use, then tap Next.
  4. Enter a password and confirm, then tap Next.
  5. Set up your MSISDN on the Rescue Info section or choose Remind Me Later, then tap Next. You will then be prompted with a confirmation to send a message to the entered MSISDN.
  6. Read through the Google services options on the Google services section and tap Next.
  7. Tap Next again, once confirmed.
  8. Select any from the given options on the Set Up Payment Info section. (Available options may vary depending on your phone carrier). Tap Next to proceed.
  9. Fill in the requested information then tap Next.
  10. Read through the Google services options on the Google services section and tap Next.
  11. Choose any of the given options from the Samsung Account screen.
  12. If you have an existing Google account, tap Sign up with Google ID and follow the prompts.
  13. If you have a Samsung account, tap Sign in to sign in to your account and follow the prompts.
  14. If you want to open a new Samsung account, tap Create new account and follow the prompts.
  15. Tap Set on the Set Wake-Up Command screen to record your voice command to wake-up the phone or tap Later, instead.
  16. Tap any of the given options on Add fingerprint section. You may choose Add or Later.

If you select ADD, follow these steps:

  1. Tap Confirm on the Disclaimer screen.
  2. Follow the instructions to place your finger on the Home key to start the scan.
  3. If the finger is not detected, you will see a pop up asking prompting you to move your finger. Just tap Continue.
  4. Enter in a backup password twice when the scan is complete, and then tap Continue.
  5. Wait for the Fingerprint scan to finish, then tap OK to Enable the Fingerprint lock or Cancel to disable.

If you select Later, you can skip the fingerprint scan and do it some other time.

  1. Select Easy Mode on the Setup Complete section or tap Finish.
  2. Check or uncheck the option to Allow diagnostics on the Device Data Collection section and then tap Next to continue.
  3. From the Connection Assistant section, tap Accept to allow or Decline to stop the collection.
  4. From the Special Offers section, tap Accept to allow or Decline to stop the offers.

Once you’ve completed all the aforementioned steps, your device will now open or launch the Home screen. If prompted with the Smart Switch notification, tap Start to begin file transfer from an old device or Later to perform file transfer at a different time. During the file transfer, you will be advised to connect to a Wi-Fi network.

How to change the Language used on the Galaxy S6 Edge?

In case you don’t want to use the default language on your new Galaxy S6 Edge smartphone, follow these quick steps to change it.

  1. Tap Apps from the Home screen.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Scroll to System.
  4. Tap Language and Input.
  5. Tap Language.
  6. Tap the language you would like to use on your device.

How to set Date and Time on the Galaxy S6 Edge?

Follow these steps to set the time and date of your new Galaxy device:
