S6 Blue Flashing Light With Black Screen
Problem: I have a Galaxy S6, it has a black screen with blue light flashing. I tried all of the power+home+volume up and down options and still nothing happens. I’m pretty sure its the black screen of death issue. Not sure what should I do?
Solution: What you will want to do first in this particular issue is to make sure that the phone’s battery has sufficient charge. Charge your phone for at least 20 minutes using its charger. If you don’t get any charging indication from the device then do the following steps.
- Clean the charging port of your phone using a can of compressed air. Make sure to remove any dirt or debris stuck in this port.
- Try using a different charging cord.
- Try using a different wall charger.
- Try charging your phone from a computer USB port.
Once the battery has some charge in it disconnect the phone from its charger then simulate a battery pull. This is done by pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds.
If the issue persists then try starting the phone in recovery mode. From here you should do a factory reset. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data.
If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you should bring your phone to a service center and have it checked as this is most likely a hardware related problem already caused by a faulty internal component.
S6 IMS Service Messages Syncing
Problem: I have a Galaxy S6 (not the edge). I did the system update about three weeks ago and ever since then I cannot get the IMS Service Messages Syncing to turn off. So far it hasn’t synced anything and it is draining my battery. I have forced stopped it at least twice and when I have to restart my phone so does the syncing. Can you please help me?
Solution: This appears to be a glitch in one of the AT&T apps following an update. To fix this follow the steps listed below.
- Go to Settings.
- Tap Applications.
- Tap Messages.
- Tap AT&T Messages Backup & Sync.
- Tap Stop Backup (link).
If the issue persists then I suggest that you backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
S6 Stuck In Boot Loop
Problem: Phone is stuck in a boot loop have followed all steps except the wipe and master reboot. I have been told that it could be the battery because when plugged in the screen will say 88% when unplugged or into a computer it reads 16% or less.
Solution: It’s possible that this could be a battery related problem. However, since it’s not easy to replace the battery of this phone then you will have to troubleshoot this problem from the recovery mode first.
Start the phone in recovery mode then do the following
- Wipe the cache partition of the phone. Restart the phone then check if the issue still occurs.
- Do a factory reset. Take note that this will erase your phone data.
If the above steps don’t fix the problem then you should bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.
S6 Will Not Update
Problem: My galaxy s6 will not update. I don’t have any new emoji’s. I’ve had the phone for a year and half and it hasn’t updated since. I have checked my phone to see if any updates are available and it says no. Is there a way to fix this?
Solution: There are several conditions that your phone must meet in order for it to get the official software updates.
- Your phone must not be rooted.
- Your phone must not be running on a custom software.
- If this phone was unlocked then it should be running on its original network so that it can easily access the update servers.
If your phone meets the conditions listed above but it is still not getting updates then you should try doing a factory reset. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset. Once the reset is done check for the update again. You should also try using Smart Switch to update your phone.
If the issue persists then you should consider flashing your phone with its updated stock firmware file. You can get this file from the Sammobile website where you can also get instructions on how to flash your phone.
S6 Apps Not Updating After Software Update
Problem: Since updating the operating system none of my apps will update in Google play. They act like they are thinking about updating but never actually do. Help. I’ve cleared cache, data, restarted, signed out & in. I am at a loss of options that I know. Please help.
Solution: Have you tried connecting your phone to a different Wi-Fi network then check if you are able to update your phone apps? This is to verify if the problem is caused by your current Internet connection. Should the issue still persist then it’s possible that this is caused by some form of old software data that has not been completely removed during the update process. You will have to backup your phone data then do a factory reset to fix the problem.
S6 Audio From Apps Not Playing Through Headphones
Problem: This issue just started today. No recent changes to settings/system updates. Audio from various apps (e.g. spotify, podcast addict, amazon music) will play over the internal speaker, but not through headphones. Audio from phone calls and recorded voicemails from the voicemail app will, however, play through headphones. I get no error messages. Tried turning the phone off for about 5 minutes, rebooting. Same issue. Any suggestions?
Solution: Try starting your phone in Safe Mode then check if the issue occurs in this mode. If it doesn’t then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
If the issue still occurs even in Safe Mode then I recommend that you backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
S6 Unable To Find Application To Perform Action Error
Problem: Trying to play a video on my galaxy S6 active and “unable to find application to perform action” error message keeps popping up how do I get video to play?
Solution: This issue is usually caused by video app of the phone not being able to read the video file format that you are playing. Try restarting your phone then check if the issue still occurs. If it does then I suggest you download a third party video player app that plays a wide range of video formats from the Google Play Store.
S6 Outlook Has Stopped Working Error
Problem: Hi there I wonder if you can help me please. I gave a Samsung Galaxy s6. It continually shows this message. Outlook has stopped working report or ok. It’s flashing up every 2 mins and driving me mad! How could I stop this? Thank you
Solution: To fix this problem try clearing the cache and data of the Outlook app from the application manager. Take note that you will need to setup your account again after performing this step. If the issue persists then you should uninstall the Outlook app then install a fresh version from the Google Play Store.
S6 Freezes After Software Update
Problem: Whenever I see media / videos on either FB / movies they freeze after a few seconds…..it also happens to me with my alarm clock. This all happened after I did the latest phone update…..plssss help as it’s very annoying
Solution: Try wiping the cache partition of your phone from the recovery mode then check if the issue still occurs. If it does then this could be caused by old software data that has not been completely removed during the update. You will need to backup your phone data then do a factory reset to fix this problem.
