S5 Text Message Sending Failed
Problem: I can get a text, but wen I try to respond I get a message on mine saying failed and circled exclamation sign and when you click it says cancel or retire I’ve tried that a soft reset and everything my tech support thought of all them ## and number codes they checked my network towers in my area are fine even my data. Still can’t make a text. If there’s anything you can do to help my temporary problem this is my backup con o shoots n ladders I never said what phone I have It’s a galaxy Gs5 but I did do a system update if that helps any but kinda need a solution it my new comes Back I’m very sick and if I need a Dr I text her and we web chat but all I know is I can’t text to her refills…so no pressure any help is appreciated..
Solution: Have you tried checking the message center number of your phone? Make sure that this number matches the one your network is using. To check if an app you downloaded is prevented you from sending a text message you should start the phone in Safe Mode. When the phone operates in this mode only the pre-installed apps are allowed to run. Try sending a text message. If you are able to send a message then the problem could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
If the issue occurs even in Safe Mode then I recommend that you backup your phone data and do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete don’t install any apps yet. Try checking if you are able to send out a text message.
Should the above steps fail to fix the problem then you should try getting a new SIM card as the problem could be caused by the SIM.
S5 Cannot Send Or Receive MMS
Problem: Hello, First I must say what a good thing you are doing here helping people with these questions. Anyways I bought a refurbished Samsung galaxy 5 (sm-g900v). It is cdma unlocked good on gsm networks. I have h2o wireless with working 4g mobile data. I’ve been in countless forums to no avail I still cannot send or receive mms (picture messages). I’ve used many different apn settings that still allow my data to work but nothing helps with picture messages. Do you guys have any more tips or ideas I’ve tried all your previous suggestions I’ve seen in this forum as many others. Thank you so much
Solution: Have you tried clearing the cache and data of the messaging app then try sending an MMS? You should also try sending an MMS while the phone is in Safe Mode. If you are able to send an MMS then the problem could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it. Another step you should consider is to do a factory reset. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset. If after the reset the issue still persists then you should consider downloading a third party messaging app that allows for picture messages to be sent.
S5 Not Sending Or Receiving Text Messages After Software Update
Problem: My Samsung Galaxy s5 ever since it updated .. it’s been running slower… but my two major issues are it doesn’t allow me to send or receive any picture messages… it also doesn’t allow my mobile data to kick in while I’m not around wifi… it’s very frustrating. . I have Google how to foxed everything it tells me to do its on already. How do I fixed these major issues I’m having . My plan is unlimited Internet so I know I should have mobile data when not around wifi but it won’t kick in. Please help me with these two major issues . I want to be able to send pictures through text messaging and can’t send or receive. .. it just keeps trying or keeps saying download. Please email me back solving the issues thank you
Solution: Since this issue occured right after a software update I recommend that you check the APN settings of your device first. Make sure that it matches the settings that your network is using. If necessary correct the APN settings of your phone if needed.
If your phone already has the correct APN settings and you still are unable to send or receive a picture message then I recommend that you do a factory reset. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset.
S5 Doesn’t Always Receive Text Messages
Problem: My Samsung S5 doesn’t always receive texts. Doesn’t matter the Cell phone or carrier. It’s not even that i eventually get the message, I never get it. My friends will end up messaging me on Snapchat or Facebook messenger wondering why I didn’t respond to their text. Sometimes it’ll be in the middle of a texting conversation. I called Bell (my provider) and they don’t know any show any issues with my texting. My friends with iPhones know to text and not to iMessage so that’s not the issue. Any help would be great. Thank you.
Solution: The first thing that you should do in this case is to check if you have blocked any number from texting you. Remove the numbers from the block list if needed.
If you don’t have any number in the block list then do the following troubleshooting steps listed below.
- Turn off your phone then remove the battery and SIM. Wait for a minute before reinserting the battery and SIM. This will re-establish the connection between the phone and the network.
- Clear the cache and data of the messaging app.
- Start the phone in Safe Mode. Check if the issue occurs in this mode. If it doesn’t then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
- Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
S5 Not Sending Text Message to Special Numbers
Problem: My new employer told me i needed to set up my text to receive job info. I need to be able to receive text from a number that does not have as many numbers in it as a phone number does. This is what I was to do. : For the recipient enter 292929 In the message enter TLG then sent. I get an error code 0 And it says “failed to send” She does this with all new employees and doesn’t know why it wont send for me. Can you help? I have a galaxy s5
Solution: This issue could be caused by a permission setting in the messaging app. Go to Settings- More- Application Manager- All tab- Messaging. Under permissions on send premium SMS set it to “Always Allow” or “Ask”.
