Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus can’t send MMS. Here’s how to fix it…

If your new Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus can’t send MMS, the problem should be with your account or SIM card. Take note that when sending picture messages or any form of MMS, you will be charged every successful transmission. Needless to say, you have to make sure that your account is not barred from using the service or if you’re on prepaid, your SIM card should have enough credits to send such kind of messages.

Don’t worry, this problem is often very minor and you can fix it in no time. In this post, I will walk you through in troubleshooting your Galaxy S10 Plus that cannot send MMS. So, continue reading as this article may be able to help you one way or another.

What to do if Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus can’t send MMS?

Here are the things you need to do if your Galaxy S10 Plus can no longer send MMS or picture messages…

Make sure the Flight Mode isn’t enabled. When flight mode is turned on, usually, all wireless communications are disabled and this could be the reason why your new phone can no longer send MMS messages. You will know if it’s enabled if there’s a plane icon beside the signal indicator.

Make sure your phone has reception. When it comes to wireless communications, signal is everything. So, if your device doesn’t get a good reception, you can expect that things like this would happen especially and MMS messages need a stable connection to the tower since you’re transmitting a big amount of data. Just simply looking at the signal indicator would tell you if the problem is due to bad reception.

Restart your phone. After doing the first two steps and your phone is still not able to send MMS, restart it to refresh its memory and everything in it including the texting app you’re using.

  1. Press and hold the Power button.
  2. Tap the option to Power off.
  3. Tap Power off again to confirm.
  4. After about 30 seconds, press and hold the Power button again until your phone boots up.

Once the phone becomes active, try sending the MMS again and see if it goes through this time. If still not, then try the next procedure.

Toggle mobile data Off and back On. Here’s one important thing you need to know when sending MMS or pictures messages; mobile data needs to be enabled. If it’s already enabled, then try toggling the switch OFF and then back ON to refresh the connection between your phone and the network.

  1. Open the Apps screen by swiping on an empty spot from the Home screen.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Connections.
  4. Select Data usage.
  5. Tap the Mobile data switch to turn the feature ON or OFF. In this case, it has to be turned on so as to enable mobile data services on your device including MMS sending and receiving.
  6. If it’s already turned on, try to toggle the switch to turn Mobile data off for a few seconds and then tap the switch to turn it back on.

After this, try to send an MMS to your own number and see if it goes and if you can actually receive it. If the message is still not sent, then it’s time to refresh all network settings of your device.

Reset Network Settings of your Galaxy S10 Plus. Resetting all network settings will refresh all wireless communications in your device as well as fix all possible network issues. After doing all the troubleshooting procedures above, you have no other choice but to do this. In fact, it’s the most logical thing to do at this point. Here’s how it’s done:

  1. Swipe up on an empty spot from the Home screen to open the Apps tray.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap General Management.
  4. Tap Reset.
  5. Select the option to Reset settings.
  6. Alternatively, you can try to Reset network settings to restore network defaults on your phone. It also helps especially if the problem is attributed to an incorrect network setting on your device.
  7. Tap Reset Settings again to continue.
  8. Enter your device PIN, if prompted.
  9. Tap Reset Settings to confirm settings reset.

It’s better to reboot your phone after doing this procedure. Once it becomes active, try sending an MMS and see if the problem is fixed. If your Galaxy S10 can’t send MMS still, then you try the next procedure.

Call tech support or service provider. When it comes to network-related issues, your service provider is the best party that could help you. After all, they have all the information about your account or SIM card and tools that could help you fix the problem. It’s possible that the APN settings changed and the ones that are in your phone also have to be changed. Your provider can advise you about it. Also, they can give you more information if your account is barred from using the service or if you don’t have enough credits to do so. If there’s an issue with the tower in your area, they can also tell you the estimated time when the problem is fixed. And lastly, if the phone needs to be re-provisioned, they will be able to do it on their end.
