Note 8 Stuck On BSoD With Blue LED Light Blinking

YouTube video

Problem: Last night my Samsung Note 8 did an update . .  .then it rebooted a few times . . and got stuck on BSoD with blue LED softly flashing . . I could not get phone to work no matter what . . I let the battery go flat overnight . . then plugged in the charger this morning . . my screen showed flat battery picture and that it was charging . . then Service Provider screen (3) . . . then BSoD with blue LED softly flashing . .  AND no matter which buttons I press  . even in combination . . NOTHING happens, just the permanent Black screen … also , I do NOT know the Android Version

Solution: A BSoD or black screen of death that occurs right after a software update is usually caused by the phone software crashing. What you will need to do first in this case is to make sure that the battery has sufficient charge. If necessary you should charge the phone first for at least 20 minutes. Once the battery has some charge then proceed with the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Remove the microSD of the phone then perform a simulate battery pull. This is done by pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons for at least 10 second. The phone should restart after this.
  • Try starting your phone in Safe Mode. In case the phone works in this mode then the problem could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
  • Try wiping the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode
  • Try performing a factory reset from the recovery mode. Take note that this will erase your phone data.

In case the above steps fails to fix the problem then you should have the phone checked at a service center.

Note 8 Always on Display Not Responding

Problem: Hello my problem is my always on display is not responding. Normally it lights up when it’s daylight and dims in low light or the evening but now it’s staying dim. And doesn’t respond to my palm swipe or if I touch it accidentally. Normally it lights up or show me the lock screen. I don’t know what happened today, except that my phone powered off by itself and then turned on. Battery was half full. I’ve tried restarting and even switched it off for a while but nothing is working. And I can’t find a solution anywhere. Rest of the phone is fine. Only the AOD is not responding at all. But the phone did switch off today when I put my finger on the finger sensor.

Solution: Does your phone have a screen protector installed? If it does then this could be causing the problem. Try removing the screen protector then check if the issue still occurs.

In case the phone does not have a screen protector installed then proceed with the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Make sure that the phone software is updated.
  • Start the phone in Safe Mode then check if the issue occurs in this mode. In case it doesn’t then this could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
  • Wipe the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

If the issue still occurs even after performing the steps listed above then you should have this checked at a service center.

Note 8 Freezes

Problem: I have had this issue with my the last few months. My galaxy Note 8 freezes periodically. Most of the time when the phone freezes, the screen also glitches (a black bar shows up on the screen, rainbow bars/lines show up on the screen, sometimes black even takes up the entire screen). Sometimes the phone will shut off on its own I bought this phone from Brandsmart. So while it is an at&t phone, T-mobile is my carrier My phone also has a problem with boot loops. Sometimes if I leave it alone, it will spend the entire day in a boot loop, starting up, freezing while trying to start, shutting down, and starting over again. I have periods (usually a few days) when my phone works fine, it starts up fine, charges fine, and performs fine. But when it starts acting up, it can malfunction for up to 2 weeks, and it usually just bricks when it does. The next problem isn’t very frequent. But sometimes when my phone freezes, it will either make a click noise or a loud static sound. I don’t know why this is. I have not tried a hard reset because I have not had the time to backup my data. Please help me. Thank you

Solution:  Do you have a microSD card installed in the phone? If you have one then remove it as this could be causing the problem. I also suggest that you backup your phone data then do a factory reset to eliminate any software issues that could be causing this problem. In case the problem still persists then you will have to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
