Note 4 Phone Has Stopped Error

Problem: When I am using my phone and to do anything, check emails or Facebook or any app, and someone calls the phones get an error message “Phone has stopped” and the only way to clear is restart, which is a pain.  I hope there is a fix for this issue.  Thanks.

Solution: If a restart temporarily fixes the problem then this is most likely caused by some software glitch. There are two things that you can do right now to fix this problem. Perform the first step listed below then check if the issue still occurs. If it does then you need to proceed to the next step.

  • Start the phone in recovery mode then wipe its cache partition.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

Note 4 Restarts Often Screen Freezes

Problem: I have a note 4 that restarts often. screen freezes. gets stuck on Samsung logo at restart. even shuts off in safe mode. I’ve reset it. new battery not sure what to try next

Solution: If doing a factory reset and replacing the battery with a new one does not fix the problem then this is most likely caused by an internal component or components that are failing to work. The best thing that you can do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

Note 4 Not Recognizing SIM Card

Problem: I have an unlocked note 4 with SIM only beal from my provider which is BT in the UK  I have had the phone for a couple of years and all worked well I recently went to Thailand and got a local SIM deal , at a kiosk at the airport, the nice lady took out my BT SIM put in the local SIM she then very quickly put a shortcut number into the phone which took her to another menu and she picked up the local carrier / or entered it as i remember seeing the carrier logo in the menu. switched back on and all worked over my holiday OK  Upon my return to the UK I put my UK BT sim back in and powered up but the phone said no service. Going into the settings and searching for providers it cannot find my BT supplier,it shows others, but not BT  I have taken the same BT SIM put in my old note 2 phone and it picks up and connects to the network straight away showing the SIM is OK. I put a pay as you go SIM into my note 3 re boots and it picks up that provider straight away . So it would appear that the little lady who set up my phone in Thailand somehow made my phone disable any BT settings in flavor of the local SIM  But now i cannot use my phone as before my holiday it just rejects or won’t recognise the BT SIM  i do remember that she dialed  a special number into the keypad  while doing this  My local phone shop who is general helpful suggest factory reset  Any suggestions

Solution: Before doing a factory reset you can try to manually check for the BT network from your phone by following the steps listed below.

  • Slide your finger down the display starting from the top edge of your phone.
  • Tap the settings icon.
  • Tap  More networks.
  • Tap Mobile networks.
  • Tap Network operators.
  • Select network manually
  • Press the required network which in this case is BT
  • Press the Home key to return to the home screen.

In case the issue still persists then you need to consider doing a factory reset. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset.

Note 4 Keeps On Rebooting

Problem: Hi! I accidentally deleted my call log from my phone and wanted to retrieve it. Thus, I installed some programs such as Dr. Fone in my attempt. However, my phone is current rebooting non-stop. I am not sure if it is the motherboard problem. When I set it to recovery mode i.e. factory reset, the rebooting continues. It is not bricked, that is for sure. Thank you for your kind assistance!!

Solution: Normally, if the issue is caused by the app which you downloaded doing a factory reset will fix the problem. In this case though it does not work. Let’s take a look at why this is happening by following the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • If your phone has a microSD card installed then try removing it as this might be causing the problem.
  • Connect your phone to its charger then check if the issue still occurs. If it doesn’t then your phone might have a faulty battery. Try getting a new battery and see if this fixes the problem.
  • Consider flashing your phone with its updated stock firmware file using Odin. You can download the firmware file from the Sammobile website. Instructions on how to flash your phone are also provided in that website.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you should have your phone checked at a service center as this could already be a hardware related problem.

Note 4 MMC_Read Failed Error

Problem: Hi Phone frequently freeze and sometimes reboot in Odin mode with this sentence mmc_read failed Motherboard need to be changed Best regard

Solution: This problem is most likely caused by a damaged flash memory of the phone. Have you tried doing a factory reset? Try doing this step first then check if the issue still occurs. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset. If the reset fails to fix the problem then you should consider flashing your phone with its updated firmware file. You can download the firmware file of your device from the Sammobile website. You will also get the instructions on how to flash your phone from this website.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then the flash storage of your phone is most likely damaged. Since it is difficult to replace this particular component then you will either need to replace the whole motherboard of your phone or just get a new phone.

Note 4 Does Not Do Software Update

Problem: I have my samsung galaxy note 4 SM-N910C . I want to update to marshmallow but everytime i check my software update it always said that the latest version is up to date . But my friend already install the 6.0 marshmallow but me i’m stock to 5.1.1 version . Please help me . Thanks

Solution: There are several conditions that your phone must meet first in order for it to get the official software updates.

  • Your phone must not be rooted
  • Your phone must not be running on a custom software
  • If you had this phone unlocked then it should be running on its original network in order for it to access the update servers of the carrier.

If your phone meets the above conditions but it still is not getting any updates then try performing a factory reset. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset. Once the reset is complete use Kies to update your phone.

If you phone still does not get any updates then you should manually flash the updated firmware file using Odin. You can download your phone’s firmware file from the Sammobile website. You will also get the instructions on how to flash your phone from this website.
