  • Samsung is expected to bundle the Galaxy Buds+ in some form with the upcoming galaxy s20 lineup as well as the Galaxy Z Flip.

A leak yesterday gave us a very good idea of Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Buds refresh known as Galaxy Buds+. This leak revealed that the Plus variant will only bring moderate changes like the addition of another external microphone as well as 2-way audio while the predecessor could only do one-way audio. Today, we’re getting some more information on the earbuds thanks to the official Samsung Galaxy Buds+ companion app making an appearance on the iTunes App Store for iOS and iPadOS devices.

This listing pretty much confirms the existence of the Galaxy Buds+. Thanks to a separate leak yesterday, there’s really no surprise element left with regards to the hardware of these new earbuds. It has been previously mentioned that the Galaxy Buds+ will be able to offer 1 hour of playtime with just a 3-minute charge. Samsung is expected to bundle the Galaxy Buds+ in some form with the upcoming Galaxy S20 lineup as well as the Galaxy Z Flip.

The App Store listing also comes with a few screenshots, showing the kind of features these earbuds will bring. The listing reveals that the Galaxy Buds+ will have a touchpad interface to pause/play audio or answer/reject calls. Additionally, there’s a bar that helps the users adjust the amount of ambient noise they can hear, which is a more extensive version of Apple’s Transparency Mode with the recent AirPods Pro.

Samsung hasn’t quite impressed the market with its range of audio accessories, particularly earbuds. This is because the company has a lot of competition both at the high-end and low-end of the spectrum, which has, in turn, made it quite hard for the company to build any traction in this business.

There’s not too long to wait to pick up the Galaxy Buds+ given that the galaxy s20 launch is less than a week away. Samsung’s unpacked event will also see the announcement of the Galaxy Z Flip which has been rumored to be an exclusive via AT&T in the U.S.
