Samsung Galaxy A20 keeps rebooting. Here’s how to fix it.

Troubleshooting Galaxy A20 that keeps rebooting

In troubleshooting a smartphone that keeps rebooting, you need to be thorough enough so you can determine what the issue really is and fix it. Also, we don’t want you to lose some of your files and data, so we need to be careful as well. With all that being said, here’s what you should do: 

First solution: Run your phone in safe mode and observe

The first thing you have to do is to restart your phone in safe mode to temporarily disable all third-party applications. It is very important that you do this procedure because there are times when apps would cause the phone to reboot by itself. So, follow these steps to restart your device in safe mode: 

1. Press and hold the Power key until options show. 
2. Tap and hold the Power off option until it changes into Safe Mode. 
3. Tap the Safe mode icon to restart your device.
4. Once the reboot is successful, you should see ‘Safe mode’ at the lower-left corner of the screen. 

While in this mode, observe your phone closely to know if the phone still keeps rebooting by itself even with all apps disabled. If the problem is fixed, then it’s confirmed that there really an app that’s causing it. Here’s what you need to do next: 

1. Restart your phone normal to boot into standard mode. 
2. Remember the apps you installed about the time when the phone starts to reboot by itself. 
3. Once you already have an app in mind, swipe down from the top of the screen to pull the notification panel down. 
4. Tap the Settings icon on the upper-right corner. 
5. Scroll to and then tap Apps. 
6. Find and tap suspected app. 
7. Tap Storage. 
8. Touch Clear data and tap OK to confirm.
9. Tap the back key once and then touch Uninstall. 
10. Confirm that you want to remove the app from your phone. 

On the other hand, if your phone still keeps rebooting even if it’s in safe mode, then move on to the next solution.

Third solution: Reset all settings

It is also possible that you’ve changed some settings on your phone that caused this problem. To rule this out, reset all settings to bring them all back to factory defaults. Don’t worry, none of your files will be deleted. Here’s how it’s done: 

1. Swipe down from the top of the screen to pull the notification panel down. 
2. Tap the Settings icon on the upper-right corner. 
3. Scroll to and tap General management. 
4. Touch Reset. 
5. Tap Reset settings. 
6. Tap the Reset settings button. 
7. If prompted, enter your PIN, Password or Pattern. 
8. Finally, tap Reset.

If your phone still keeps rebooting after this, then try the next solution.

Fourth solution: Wipe cache partition

Another possibility is that the system cache may have been corrupted. This also occurs from time to time and when it happens, performance issues may also occur. You need to rule this out by wiping the cache partition. Here’s how: 

1. Turn off the device.
2. Press and hold the Volume Up and Power keys.
3. When the Galaxy A20 logo shows, release all three keys.
4. Your Galaxy A20 will continue to boot up into the Recovery Mode. Once you see a black screen with blue and yellow texts, proceed to the next step. 
5. Press the Volume down key several times to highlight wipe cache partition.
6. Press Power key to select.
7. Press the Volume down key to highlight yes, them and press the Power key to select.
8. When the wipe cache partition is complete, Reboot system now is highlighted.
9. Press the Power key to restart the device.

Once you’re done wiping the cache partition and your Galaxy A20 still keeps rebooting by itself, then try to do the next solution. 

Fifth solution: Backup your files and reset your phone

After doing all those troubleshooting procedures and your Galaxy A20 still keeps rebooting, the next thing you have to do is the reset. It will be able to fix this problem but you may lose some files. So, before doing it, make sure to create a copy of your important data and files. After the backup, remove your google and samsung accounts so that you won’t be locked out. Once you’ve done all of that, follow these steps to reset your phone: 

1. Turn off the device.
2. Press and hold the Volume Up and Power keys.
3. When the Galaxy A20 logo shows, release all three keys.
4. Your Galaxy A20 will continue to boot up into the Recovery Mode. Once you see a black screen with blue and yellow texts, proceed to the next step. 
5. Press the Volume down key several times to highlight ‘wipe data / factory reset’.
6. Press Power button to select.
7. Press the Volume down key until ‘Yes’ is highlighted.
8. Press Power button to select and start the master reset.
9. When the master reset is complete, ‘Reboot system now’ is highlighted.
10. Press the Power key to restart the device.

After the reset, set up your phone as a new device.
