Robert Downey Jr. Pictured With the Upcoming OnePlus 8 Pro

- The picture was soon taken down, but social media users were quick to circulate the picture further.
- The OnePlus 8 is expected to be revealed by the 15th of April along with the OnePlus 8 Lite and the Pro variant.
It’s not every day that an upcoming smartphone is leaked courtesy of a Hollywood star. Well, that’s what’s happening today with a picture on Twitter revealing Robert Downey Jr. holding the OnePlus 8 Pro, which is expected to break cover on the 14th of April, although newer reports have pitched an April 15 release date for the phone. It is said that the image of Downey Jr. was originally posted on Instagram by director Sam Jones, which then made its way to other platforms, including Twitter.
Robert Downey Jr. is known for his enthusiasm for all things tech. His recent venture included a YouTube Original series on artificial intelligence known as The Age of A.I. While Downey Jr. is known onscreen for his tech-savvy persona, especially in flicks like Iron Man and subsequently the Avengers franchise, it is well-known that his love for tech goes beyond the screen.
Director Jones has since deleted the Instagram post as it built a lot of traction online on multiple platforms. Thankfully, the folks at TechDroider managed to zoom into the image in question, thus offering a clearer look at what could well be OnePlus’ next flagship.
While there’s little in the way of confirmation from OnePlus on this, we expect more to be revealed soon. Previous rumors have suggested that the OnePlus 8 Pro will be accompanied by the standard OnePlus 8 as well as the OnePlus 8 Lite, with some reports mentioning that the latter may be delayed.
