OnePlus 8 Pro Leak Confirms 120 Hz Display Refresh Rate
With all talk about Samsung looking to launch the Galaxy S20 lineup with 120 Hz displays, it’s easy to forget that OnePlus also has similar plans of its own. Well, a new leak has uncovered the OnePlus 8 Pro, revealing the setting that lets users enable the 120 Hz display refresh rate. It’s worth pointing out that Samsung or OnePlus will not be the first to launch phones with high display refresh rates as manufacturers like ASUS and Razer have already achieved this some time ago.
What’s interesting about this OnePlus 8 Pro leak, however, is the fact that it also reveals how the users can control the refresh rate. The image reveals options that lets you downgrade to 90 Hz or 60 Hz. It’s likely that Samsung will have a similar system in place with the galaxy s20 which is expected to break cover on the 11th of February at the company’s yearly Unpacked event.
Another major revelation made here is the exclusion of a pop-up selfie camera in favor of a more common hole-punch camera positioned at the top left of the display. This should make things more manageable, while also allowing OnePlus to keep its smartphone relatively slim without compromising on design attributes.
American customers have plenty to be excited about with OnePlus expected to increase its reach this year. It’s been said that Verizon will launch its first OnePlus smartphone in 2024, possibly with 5G. All signs hint that it’s likely going to be the OnePlus 8 Pro. Older OnePlus handsets including the OnePlus 7T Pro 5G McLaren have been available through carriers like T-Mobile in the U.S.
