How to manage Galaxy Note10 contacts

Adding, editing, or deleting contacts in Samsung Galaxy devices has not changed for years now. If you are new to Android or Samsung devices in particular though, you may not readily realize how easy it is to manage contacts in a device like the Galaxy Note10. Although our title specifically say this device, the steps below are actually applicable to a wide range of Samsung devices out there. How to manage Galaxy Note10 contacts

If you are new to Samsung Galaxy devices, it can be a bit overwhelming how to manage contacts on your Note10. Don’t worry though as this post will show you exactly the step-by-step instructions on how to:

  • add a contact
  • add contact to speed dial
  • add number to caller group
  • copy contacts
  • create caller group
  • delete contact.

How to add a contact

This is a basic thing to do to begin using your Galaxy Note10 as a communication device. Follow the steps below to start adding your contacts.

  1. Go to the Home screen.
  2. Swipe up, then tap Contacts.
  3. Tap the Create icon (+ icon).
  4. Select the following where to save the contact to:
  5. Samsung account
  6. Phone
  7. Google
  8. Enter the name and contact details, then tap Save.

 Add contact to speed dial

If you regularly call a number, it’s not a bad idea to use speed dial to do the job faster. A speed dial is a feature in your phone that allows you to call a number by just dialing a single button. Here’s how to add a favorite contact in your speed dial.

  1. Go to the Home screen.
  2. Swipe up, then tap Phone.
  3. Tap Contacts tab.
  4. Tap More options at the upper right (three dots).
  5. Tap Speed dial numbers.
  6. Tap the number you want to assign the speed dial number. The #1 slot is always assigned to Voicemail and cannot be changed.
  7. Tap the contact you want to assign to the speed dial number.
  8. Tap the arrow in the left corner to go back to the Phone app.

How to add number to caller group

If you want to call a group for certain number of people like close family members, you’re better off by creating a group. Below are the steps to do that.

  1. Go to the Home screen.
  2. Swipe up, then tap Contacts.
  3. Tap the contact you want to add to your group.
  4. Tap Edit tab at the bottom.
  5. Tap Groups.
  6. Select the you wish to assign to the contact.
  7. Tap the arrow to go back to the Contact profile, then tap Save

If you want to create a new group that’s not in the list:

  1. Go to the Home screen.
  2. Swipe up, then tap Contacts.
  3. Tap the contact you want to add to your group.
  4. Tap Edit tab at the bottom.
  5. Tap Groups.
  6. Tap Create group.
  7. Tap the arrow to go back to the Contact profile, then tap Save

How to copy contacts

If you want to create a copy of your contacts to or from an SD card or SIM card, follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Home screen.
  2. Swipe up, then tap Contacts.
  3. Tap Menu at the upper left (three horizontal lines).
  4. Tap Manage contacts.
  5. Select Import/Export contacts.
  6. If you want to copy contacts from your phone to an SD card, SIM card, or vCard file: tap Export then select SD card. Choose the contacts to export, then tap DONE > EXPORT > OK.
  7. If you want to copy contacts from an SD card, SIM card, or vCard file to your phone: Tap Import then select SD card. Choose the contacts to import, select Internal storage, and then select Done > IMPORT > OK.

How to create caller group

If you want to create a group before assigning contacts to it, that’s also possible. Here’s how it’s done:

  1. Go to the Home screen.
  2. Swipe up, then tap Contacts.
  3. Tap Menu at the upper left (three horizontal lines).
  4. Tap Groups.
  5. Tap Create.
  6. Enter group name, adjust the ringtone, add members, and then tap SAVE.

How to delete contact

Erasing a contact is easy. Here’s how:

  1. Go to the Home screen.
  2. Swipe up, then tap Contacts.
  3. Touch and hold the contact until it shows selected. Repeat for other contacts you want to delete.
  4. When finished, tap DELETE > DELETE.
