How to fix your Huawei Mate 10 Pro that won’t send MMS messages [Troubleshooting Guide]

How to troubleshoot Huawei Mate 10 Pro that won’t send MMS

MMS functions can be utilized through Wi-Fi or mobile data. If you’re relying to Wi-Fi for MMS, then make sure your phone is connected to Wi-Fi and has wireless Internet access. If you’re relying on mobile data, make sure mobile data is enabled on your device. Read on to learn more.

First solution: End or clear messaging app then restart.

The problem can also be isolated to the messaging app in use like when the app is glitching. To rectify the error, clearing the app and performing a soft reset or restart on the phone is recommended. Here’s how to clear/end messaging app on your Huawei Mate 10 Pro:

  1. Tap the Recent apps button from the Home screen.
  2. Tap the Active apps icon.
  3. Tap End next to your messaging app. You can also tap the End all button to end/clear all apps including your messaging app.
  4. Tap OK to confirm action.

After clearing your messaging app, restart your soft reset your Huawei Mate 10 Pro to clear cache from the internal memory along with the errors they caused. Here’s how a soft reset is done on your phone:

  1. Press the Power button for a few seconds until the menu options appear.
  2. Select Power Off option then tap OK.

  1. Next, tap the Settings icon (steering wheel figure) on the upper-right side.
  2. Tap Wireless & networks.
  3. Scroll to and tap Mobile data.
  4. Tap Networked apps.
  5. Tap to mark the checkbox next to your Messaging app under the Mobile data column to turn the function on for that app.
  6. Tap the Home key to go back to the Home screen.

Try again and see if your phone is already able to send MMS messages as it should. If it still failed, then move on to the next applicable solutions.

Third solution: Installing software updates, if available.

Network-related apps and services may also be afflicted from malware or software bugs. In this case, installing a new software update will likely solve the problem. Software updates usually offer bug fixes to get rid of bug-inflicted issues on the phone. If you haven’t updated your phone software yet, then follow these steps to manually check for OTA updates on your Huawei Mate 10 Pro:

  1. Make sure your phone is connected to the Internet.
  2. Tap Settings from the Home screen.
  3. Tap System.
  4. Scroll to and tap System update.
  5. Tap the button to Check for Updates. Doing so will prompt your device to check for updates.

Fifth solution: Wipe cache partition on your Huawei Mate 10 Pro.

  • Master reset. A full system reset can be considered among the last troubleshooting method to try on if the problem persists after exhausting all prior workarounds.
