Problem: Xiaomi Pocophone F1 apps keep crashing
I just bought a Poco F1 and I set it all up and now all of the sudden all the apps keep closing actually everything keeps closing , even the UI. And asks me if I want to send a report. Just little windows popping up with this. And I can’t seem to find my way out. I’ve never had this happen before. If you can help. Thank you.
Solution: This type of problem can happen on other Android devices too and usually, it’s caused by a system-wide modification. To troubleshoot this problem, follow our suggestions below.
Clear cache partition
Android OS uses a special cache called system cache to load apps quickly as well as do other tasks efficiently. Sometimes, this cache may get corrupted or becomes outdated, which results to all sorts of bugs. To ensure that your phone has good system cache, you want to clear its cache partition once every few months. This is easy to do and won’t take a minute. Here’s how it’s done:
- Power OFF your phone. This is important. You can’t boot to Recovery Mode if your phone is on when pressing the hardware button combinations below.
- Boot into the recovery mode with these steps:
- Press both Volume Down and Power buttons and hold them together.
- Once the boot menu or logo appears, release the buttons.
- Now choose the Recovery mode and enter into it.
- You should be entered into the recovery mode.
- Under the recovery mode, tap on Wipe Cache Partition.
- Perform this action by following the on-screen instructions.
- Once you are done, exit this mode.
Install system updates
Sometimes, app crashes happen if the OS or Operating System is not updated. Make sure that your Pocophone F1 software runs the latest update by checking for Android updates from time to time.
Update apps
Just like with outdated OS, apps running older or incompatible versions may lead to problems sometimes. Be sure that all apps in the system are updated. Simply open the Google Play Store app and update all your apps from there.
Undo recent modification or changes
If you recently tried to implement system changes on your Poco F1 by rooting, installing apps from other sources, or flashing non-official firmware, this may be the reason for the problem. Try to undo whatever you did and see what happens. So, for instance, if apps started crashing after rooting the device, unrooting may help.
Restart to Safe Mode
In other cases, a bad third party app may cause the system to become unstable. To check if a bad app is the culprit, run your device to Safe Mode and observe.
Here’s what you need to do:
- Your device must be powered on.
- Press the power button on phone.
- When the power off, restart, airplane mode, wifi mode, etc. menu will be displayed, release the power button.
- Now, long press the power off word on screen.
- Keep pressing this word until the Android Safe Mode message is being displayed on your phone.
- Select to reboot into Android Safe Mode.
- When done, a dedicated Safe Mode watermark will be displayed on your smartphone
- Observe the phone and check for the problem.
If your device works normally and apps won’t crash, a downloaded app must be causing it. To identify the problem app, you must use a method of elimination.
- Boot to safe mode.
- Check for the problem.
- Once you’ve confirmed that a third party app is to blame, you can start uninstalling apps individually. We suggest that you begin with the most recent ones you added.
- After you uninstall an app, restart the phone to normal mode and check for the problem.
- If your Xiaomi Pocophone F1 still has the same problem, repeat steps 1-4.
Factory reset
If this problem started happening all of a sudden and you can’t seem to identify the cause, the best thing to do is to revert all software settings to their defaults. Here’s how:
- Turn on the phone
- Please make sure battery capacity more than 50%
- Backup important data of the phone
- Open Settings app.
- Tap General Setting.
- Tap Backup and Reset.
- Tap Factory Data Reset.
- Tap Reset Device.
- Tap Delete all.
- The XIAOMI POCOPHONE F1 will do the hard reset or master format to factory default process.
