How to fix screen flickering, other display problems on your Nokia 8 (easy steps)

How to troubleshoot your Nokia 8 with screen flickering issue

Second solution: Enable safe mode.

  1. Press and hold the Volume Up button for a few seconds.
  2. When the Android logo appears, release the button.
  3. Press the Volume Up button and Power button simultaneously to enter recovery mode.

  5. To do a master reset, press the Volume Down button to highlight Wipe cache partition from the given options.

Fifth solution: Restore factory defaults/master reset.

Your last option and possible solution to try on is a full system reset or restore your device to its factory defaults. Aside from wiping all data, a factory reset will also delete any software bugs and major software errors that might have caused you this trouble. Just be sure to back up all your important data before you do so. The faster way to perform a factory reset, is through the settings menu.

  • To get this done, navigate to Settings-> Backup & Reset-> Factory Data Reset-> Reset Device. Finally, tap Erase Everything to confirm master reset.

Alternatively, you can restore your phone to its factory default settings through Android recovery mode. Here’s how:

  1. Press and hold the Volume Up button for a few seconds.
  2. When the Android logo appears, release the button.
  3. Press the Volume Up button and Power button simultaneously to enter recovery mode.
  4. While in recovery mode, press the Volume Up or Volume Down button to navigate to the given options then press the Power button to confirm selection.
  5. To do a master reset, press the Volume Down button to highlight Wipe data/factory reset option.
  6. Then press the Power button to confirm selection.
  7. Press the Volume Down button again to highlight Yes — delete all user data option.
  8. Then press the Power button to confirm selection.
  9. Wait until your phone is done erasing all your data, customized settings and apps from your device.
  10. When it’s done, the Reboot system now option is highlighted.
  11. Press the Power button to reboot your phone.

Repair options

Service would be necessary if none of the previous solutions is able to fix the screen flickering problem on your Nokia 8. Most probably, your device had acquired some sort of hardware damage either from accidental drops or liquid exposure before.
