If you are accessing Hulu from your computer

Check your system requirements

To avoid any issues when accessing the Hulu service you should make sure that the computer that you are using meets the necessary system requirements.

  • Mac OS X 10.9 or above, Microsoft Windows 10, and Chrome OS
  • The latest versions of Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Microsoft Edge on Windows 10
  • HTML5 enabled

Check your internet connection

  • Click the Firefox menu (found in the top right corner)
  • Select History
  • Select Clear Recent History…
  • In the drop down for “Time range to clear:” select Everything
  • Check the box for Cache, (it’s ok to leave everything else unchecked)
  • Click Clear Now
  • Restart or refresh Firefox

Safari

  • Click Safari in the menu bar
  • Select Preferences
  • Select the Privacy tab
  • Choose the Manage Website Data 
  • Click Remove All
  • Click Remove Now to confirm

Try to enable JavaScript and Cookies

Chrome

  • In the top right-hand corner, click More (three vertical dots or arrow pointing up)

Edge

  • Click the More menu (…) and select Open with Internet Explorer

  • Select the Security tab > Custom Level
  • In the Scripting section, click Enable for Active Scripting
  • In the dialog box that displays, click Yes

Firefox

  • In the top right-hand corner, click Menu (three parallel lines)
  • Select Options
  • Click on the Privacy tab from the side menu
  • Under History, select “Firefox will:” Use custom settings for history
  • Check the box for Accept cookies from sites

Safari

  • Click on the Safari menu at the top left-hand corner
  • Select Preferences
  • Select the Security tab > check the Enable JavaScript box
  • Select the Privacy tab > under Cookies and website data, select Allow from websites I visit

Enable Location Services

Hulu will usually require that the location services of your computer is enabled when you login,

Chrome

  • In the top right corner, click More (three vertical dots or arrow pointing up)
  • Select Settings
  • Scroll to the bottom of the page and select Advanced

  • Toggle Ask before accessing to On

Edge

  • On your PC, click the Windows Start button
  • Go to Settings > Privacy > Location

Firefox

  • In the top right corner, click Menu (three parallel lines) > Preferences
  • Select Privacy & Security from the side menu
  • Scroll down to the Permissions section
  • Click Settings… next to Location
  • Make sure that Hulu.com is added to the list of permissions

Safari

  • Click on the Apple menu at the top left corner of your Mac
  • Select System Preferences
  • Click the Security & Privacy icon in the System Preferences window
  • Click the Privacy tab (you may need unlock the padlock icon by entering your admin name and password)
  • Select Location Services
  • Check the Enable Location Services box and make sure Safari is selected from the list

Force close the Hulu app

There are instances when the problem can be caused by a glitch in the Hulu app which is why you should try to force close it. This action will refresh the app once you open it again. Uninstall then reinstall the Hulu app

In case the issue still persists then you should try to uninstall and reinstall the Hulu app.

For Android devices

  • Go to Settings > Applications > Manage Applications > All > Hulu and press Uninstall
  • Turn off the device then turn it back on.
  • Reinstall the Hulu app from the Google Play Store

For iOS devices

  • From the Home screen, tap and hold the Hulu app until it starts wiggling and a small X appears in its upper corner. Tap the app again and press Delete. 
  • Restart your device
  • Search for Hulu in the App Store and click on the cloud icon to re-download. Once the download is complete, tap Open to reopen Hulu
