How To Fix Apple TV Remote Not Working Issue
Before performing any of the recommended troubleshooting steps for this particular problem you should try to restart the Apple TV device and the TV set first as this will usually resolve most issues caused by a minor software glitch.
Make sure the remote is charged

Stay within range of the Apple TV
The Siri Remote relies on Bluetooth connection so make sure to stay within range. If you’re nearby but the volume controls don’t respond, move anything that blocks the path between your remote and the front of your television or receiver.

Try pairing both devices again.
- Turn on Apple TV and position the Siri Remote so it’s within 3 to 4 inches (8 to 10 cm) and pointing at the front of Apple TV.
- Press and hold the Menu button button and the Volume Up button Volume Up button for 2 seconds. When the Siri Remote is successfully paired, an onscreen message appears.

- Connect your iOS device to the same Wi-Fi network as your Apple TV.
- Open the Apple TV Remote app on your iOS device, and choose your Apple TV. Don’t see it?
- On your Apple TV, go to Settings > General > Remotes and enter the four-digit code that appears on your iOS device. If the code doesn’t appear and you can control your Apple TV, your iOS device is already paired and you can start using the app.
