Troubleshooting software errors that inflict charging issues
Here’s a rundown of a few helpful procedures you can try on when troubleshooting software errors on your phone that might have prevented it’s charging system from carrying out its usual operation.
First solution: Force your phone to restart (soft reset).
Forcing your device to restart can help fix any minor apps glitches that might have caused the charging system to misbehave or stop working. You can force your device to restart while it’s on or while charging. Either way can help rectify the glitch by forcibly ending all rogue apps and processes and refreshing the phone’s charging system as well. Here’s what you should do then:
- Press and hold the Power button and the Volume Down button simultaneously for about 10 seconds or until your device power cycles.
A force restart is a simulated battery removal procedure that does the same as the usual reboot but done using the hardware keys. This will not affect any data you stored on the internal memory so it won’t cause data loss.
Second solution: Quit all background apps (if applicable).
