How to capture screenshots on HTC U12+

Unlike traditionally designed smartphones, the HTC U12+ lack Power and Volume buttons to facilitate capturing of screenshots using hardware buttons. HTC has to come up with creative ways to allow a user to make screenshots. While a bit non-conventional, capturing screenshots on an HTC U12+ is pretty easy. Learn how to use the four ways below.

Three ways to capture screenshots on HTC U12+

There are three methods that you can use to make screenshots on HTC U12+. Check out the steps for each one below.

Method 1: Capture screenshots on HTC U12+ using Power button and onscreen Home button

This is the easiest and most convenient method that we recommend. It doesn’t require you to open something up. It’s fast, effective, and simple to do.

Here’s how it’s done:

  1. Prepare the screen or app you want to capture.
  2. Press and hold the POWER button until your phone vibrates
  3. Then, tap the virtual Home button (O) on the Navigation Bar while still pressing the POWER button.
  4. Your screenshot should be saved in your device’s gallery.

Method 2: Capture screenshots on HTC U12+ using Screenshot button

Another way to capture screenshots on this device is through the use of the Screenshot button. Like the first method, this one features a simple button that you can tap. It’s also fast and easy although you’ll have to open the Navigation bar to do it. Below are the steps to do this method:

  1. Prepare the screen or app you want to capture.
  2. Swipe the on-screen navigation buttons to the left and you should see several new icons.
  3. Select the screen capture button (the one that looks like a phone).
  4. After tapping on that icon, your screenshot should be saved in your device’s gallery.

Method 3: Capture screenshots on HTC U12+ using Google Assistant

The last method to use for screenshots is with the help of Google’s own assistant. Google Assistant can do a number of tasks on your device and one of them is to assist in capturing screen image. If you don’t know how to use it, find out the steps below.

  1. Prepare the screen or app you want to capture.
  2. Tap and hold the virtual Home button (O) on the Navigation Bar to launch Google Assistant. Alternatively, you can say “Ok/Hey Google” to open the Assistant.
  3. Once Google Assistant is active, you can then say “Take a screenshot.” If you don’t want to say the command, you can opt to type it instead.
  4. Your screenshot should be saved in your device’s gallery.
