One of the hidden features in Android devices is the developer mode. It’s an advanced feature that lets developers (and other keen Android users) activate essential features such as USB debugging, desktop backup password, tweak animation settings and more. This can also be used to capture bug reports and view actual CPU usage to gauge the impact of the device software.
When enabled Developer mode also activates USB debugging feature of the phone, allowing recently programmed apps to be duplicated or copied via USB to the device for testing purposes. USB debugging is a way for Android devices to communicate with the Android Software Developer Kit or SDK over a USB connection. It enables the phone to receive commands, files and other data from a computer and allows the computer to pull and utilize crucial information from the phone including log files.
