There are two common methods to factory reset your phone. We refer to the first one as ‘Factory Reset’ which deletes your personal files and brings your phone back to its out-of-box configuration through the Settings menu.

Time needed: 10 minutes.

The one we’re going to show you here is what we call the “Hard Reset.” Both methods actually have the same results but they’re performed differently, and the latter is a bit more complicated. With that being said, here’s how you do the hard reset on your Galaxy S21:

  1. Remove your Google account.

If you can still access the Settings menu of your device, then you should remove your Google account manually. Just open Settings and then tap Accounts and backup. Tap Manage accounts, and tap your Google account. Tap Remove account, and then confirm you really want to remove it. Then follow on-screen instructions to proceed with it.
