Set up Mobile Hotspot on Galaxy S25
Mobile Hotspot on Galaxy S25 lets you share your phone’s mobile data with a laptop, tablet, or another phone in seconds. The steps below walk you through setup, security, and quick connection checks.
Set up Mobile Hotspot on Galaxy S25
- Open Settings on your Galaxy S25.
- Tap Connections.
- Tap Mobile Hotspot and Tethering.
- Tap Mobile Hotspot.
- Turn the hotspot On.
Configure hotspot name, password, and band
- In Mobile Hotspot, tap Network name and set an easy-to-recognize name.
- Tap Password and create a strong password (at least 8 characters).
- Confirm security is set to WPA2/WPA3 (or the highest available option).
- Choose a Band: use 2.4 GHz for compatibility/range, or 5 GHz/6 GHz for faster speed at shorter range.
- Optional: enable auto turn-off/timeout so hotspot shuts down when unused.
Connect another device
- On the other device, open Wi-Fi settings.
- Select your Galaxy S25 hotspot network name.
- Enter the hotspot password and connect.
- If available, use the hotspot QR code on Galaxy S25 for faster pairing.
If devices can’t connect
- Make sure mobile data is enabled on your Galaxy S25.
- Confirm your carrier plan supports tethering/hotspot use.
- Switch the hotspot band to 2.4 GHz and try again.
- Turn Mobile Hotspot off and back on, then reconnect.
- Restart both devices if needed.
Once connected, keep an eye on battery and data usage since hotspot sharing can consume both quickly.
