Connect Galaxy S25 to a hidden Wi-Fi network

If your Wi-Fi network name doesn’t appear in the list, you can still join it manually on your Galaxy S25. You just need the exact network name, security type, and password.

Before you start

  • Make sure the router is broadcasting on 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz and is in range.
  • Get the exact network name (SSID). Hidden network names are case-sensitive.
  • Confirm the security type from the router settings (typically WPA/WPA2/WPA3-Personal).

Connect to a hidden Wi-Fi network on Galaxy S25

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Tap Connections > Wi-Fi.
  3. Make sure Wi-Fi is turned on.
  4. Tap Add network (or tap the three-dot menu, then Add network).
  5. In Network name, enter the exact hidden SSID.
  6. Tap Security and choose the correct type.
  7. Enter the Wi-Fi password.
  8. Tap Connect or Save.

If Galaxy S25 won’t connect to the hidden network

  • Re-enter the SSID exactly as configured on the router (including spaces/capital letters).
  • Double-check the security mode. A mismatch (for example WPA2 vs WPA3) will fail authentication.
  • Temporarily enable SSID broadcast on the router, connect once, then hide it again.
  • Restart both the phone and router, then try again.
  • Go to Settings > General management > Reset > Reset Wi-Fi and Bluetooth settings if needed.

Quick tip

Hidden SSIDs do not improve security much by themselves. Use a strong WPA2/WPA3 password and keep router firmware updated for better protection.
