How to fix Galaxy Note10+ Bluetooth issues | Bluetooth won’t connect or not working
There are many forms of Bluetooth issues so this troubleshooting post will try to provide general solutions for the Galaxy Note10+ only. If you have any particular Bluetooth issue, learn what you can do below.
Galaxy Note10+ Bluetooth issues fix #1: Turn Bluetooth ON
If your Galaxy Note10+ encounters Bluetooth issues, the first troubleshooting step that you must do is to ensure that Bluetooth on both devices are enabled or turned on. Some users may forget that Bluetooth in one or both devices are turned off. On your Galaxy Note10+, simply pull the notification bar down and tap on Bluetooth icon to turn it on (if it’s not already). Then, make sure that the other device’s Bluetooth is already turned on. Afterwards, reestablish Bluetooth connection and see if the problem goes away.
To turn Bluetooth on or off:
- From the Home screen, swipe up on an empty spot to open the Apps tray.
- Tap Settings.
- Tap Connections.
- Tap the Bluetooth switch to turn on or off.

The next troubleshooting step that you can do is to restart the devices involved. This is one of the basic things that a user must do when Bluetooth connection can’t be established, or if it keeps disconnecting. This simple and easy solution is all it takes to fix an issue. Forcing your Galaxy Note+ to reboot is another way to sometimes fix this type of problem. This can work if the cause of the problem is a temporary bug that causes the system to freeze or become unresponsive. If you haven’t tried this yet, be sure that you do it this time. Try restarting it normally first by pressing the Power button to access the boot menu. Then, select Restart option and see if that works.
Another way to restart the device is by pressing and holding the Volume Down button and the Power key at the same time for 10 seconds or until the device’s screen turns on. This simulates the effect of having disconnected the battery from the device. If this works, this may unlock the device.
If doing the regular restart won’t help, then try this:
- Press and hold the Volume Down button first and don’t release it.

Rebooting your device regularly at least once every week can be beneficial. If you tend to forget things, we suggest that you configure your phone to reboot on its own. You can schedule it to do this task by doing these steps:
- Open Settings app.
- Tap Device Care.
- Tap the 3-dot at the top.
- Select Auto restart.
Make sure to also restart the other device (if applicable) after your Note10+ has rebooted. Refer to the device’s manual if you have no idea how to reboot it.

Android has a system cache it uses to load apps quickly. Sometimes, this cache may get corrupted or outdated after a system update or app installation. This can lead to minor bugs and performance issues. To ensure that your phone has good system cache, you can clear the cache partition. Don’t worry, this troubleshooting step will not delete your personal data like photos, videos, documents, etc. Once you’ve cleared the cache partition, your device will rebuild the system cache over time. Here’s how to do it:
- Turn off the device.
- Press and hold the Volume Up key and the Bixby / Power key.
- When the green Android logo displays, release both keys (‘Installing system update’ will show for about 30 – 60 seconds before showing the Android system recovery menu options).
- The Recovery screen menu will now appear. When you see this, release the buttons.
- Use the Volume Down button until you are highlighting ‘Wipe cache partition.’
- Press the Power button to select ‘Wipe cache partition.’
- Use Volume Down to highlight Yes.
- Press the Power button to confirm the action to clear the cache.
- Wait for a second as the system wipes the cache.
- Press the Power button again to reboot the device. This will return the device to the normal interface.

Galaxy Note10+ Bluetooth issues fix #6: Install updates
Some updates come with bug fixes so whenever they’re available, be sure to install them. Your Note10+ is set to notify you for any system or carrier updates but you can manually check for them under Settings > Software update.

An app can’t work by itself in Android. Most of the time, other apps or services may also be necessary for the proper functioning of a particular app. This is true for the Bluetooth app. To ensure that supporting apps for the Bluetooth functionality are working, try to reset app preferences. This will enable default apps that may had been disabled by mistake or by some bugs. This troubleshooting step is usually effective in fixing app-related troubles. Here’s how it’s done:
- Open Settings app.
- Tap Apps.
- Tap on More settings at the upper right (three-dot icon).
- Select Reset app preferences.
- Restart your Note10+ and check for the problem.

Bluetooth issues on Galaxy Note10+ may be due to a bad third party app. To check, try restarting your phone to safe mode.
When on safe mode, all third party apps are blocked. If Bluetooth works on safe mode only, it means that one of the apps is the reason for the problem. To check if that’s the case, restart the phone to safe mode. Here’s how to do that:
- Press and hold the Power button until the Power off window appears then release.
- Touch and hold Power off until the Safe mode prompt appears then release.
- To confirm, tap Safe mode.
- The process may take up to 30 seconds to complete.
- Upon reboot, “Safe mode” appears in the lower-left of the home screen.
- Check for the problem.
Don’t forget: safe mode blocks third party apps but it won’t tell you which of them is the real cause. If you think that there’s a rogue third party app in the system, you must identify it. Here’s what you need to do exactly:
- Boot to safe mode.
- Check for the problem.
- Once you’ve confirmed that a third party app is to blame, you can start uninstalling apps individually. We suggest that you begin with the most recent ones you added.
- After you uninstall an app, restart the phone to normal mode and check for the problem.
- If your Galaxy Note10+ is still problematic, repeat steps 1-4.
Galaxy Note10+ Bluetooth issues fix #10: Reset software to defaults (factory reset)
Most causes of Bluetooth issues are software related. If none of the solutions above have helped, be sure to factory reset your device. This is drastic and will result to deletion of your personal data. Be sure to back your photos, videos, documents, contacts, SMS, etc. before you wipe the phone.
Below are the two ways to factory reset your Note10+:
Method 1: How to hard reset on Samsung Galaxy Note10+ via Settings Menu
This is the easiest way to wipe your Galaxy Note10+. all you have to do is to go under Settings menu and follow the steps below. We recommend this method if you have no trouble going under Settings.
- Create a backup of your personal data and remove your Google account.
- Open Settings app.
- Scroll to and tap General management.
- Tap Reset.
- Select Factory data reset from the given options.
- Read the information then tap Reset to continue.
- Tap Delete All to confirm action.
Method 2: How to hard reset on Samsung Galaxy Note10+ using hardware buttons
If your case is that the phone is not booting up, or it boots but Settings menu is inaccessible, this method can be helpful. First, you need to boot the device to Recovery Mode. Once you successfully access Recovery, that’s the time that you begin proper master reset procedure. It may take some tries for you before you can access Recovery so be patient and simply try again.
- If possible, create a backup of your personal data ahead of time. If your problem prevents you from doing that, then simply skip this step.
- Also, you want to make sure that you remove your Google account. If your problem prevents you from doing that, then simply skip this step.
- Turn off the device. This is important. If you can’t turn it off, you’ll never be able to boot to Recovery Mode. If you are not able to shut the device off regularly via the Power button, wait until the phone’s battery is drained. Then, charge the phone for 30 minutes before booting to Recovery Mode.
- Press and hold the Volume Up key and the Bixby / Power key.
- When the green Android logo displays, release both keys (‘Installing system update’ will show for about 30 – 60 seconds before showing the Android system recovery menu options).
- The Recovery screen menu will now appear. When you see this, release the buttons.
- Use the Volume Down button until you are highlighting ‘Wipe data/factory reset.’
- Press the Power button to select ‘Wipe data/factory reset.’
- Use Volume Down to highlight Yes.
- Press the Power button to confirm factory reset.
- Follow the rest of the instructions to finish the task.
