Hello guys! Today, we are going to fix Fortnite Error Code 91.
A lot of players have encountered this error since the game was released in 2017 and so far, there seems to be no effective solution to prevent it from resurfacing. If you’re getting this issue whenever you’re playing, this guide should help.
What is Fortnite Error 91?
One of the common error codes in Fortnite is error 91. This error code usually indicates that the gaming platform (PC, Mac, PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, mobile) is having a connectivity issue, particularly when in a party. Error 91 may sometimes also manifest in either of these two messages: “The party is currently not responding to join requests. Please try again later” or “Party services are currently experiencing technical difficulties.”
What are the causes of Fortnite error 91?
If you’re in a party and you’re getting Fortnite error 91, one of the following factors must be to blame:
Game server issues.
Most of the time, error codes in Fortnite are caused by a problem outside a player’s control. If you were able to play Fortnite before but you’re getting the error 91 at this time, it’s a likely server problem. All you have to do in this case is to wait until the issue goes away on its own.
In my experience, server issues like party-related problems are quickly resolved by the developer so just be patient and try playing the game at a later time.
Random game app fluke.
Any application may encounter errors or develop bugs from time to time. Such bugs may be temporary may be fixed by restarting the application, computer/console, or by both.
Local network problem.
For others, Fortnite errors may be caused by an unresponsive local networking equipment such as modem or router. While there’s no surefire way to totally eliminate problems with electronic devices, you can lessen the chances of bugs from developing by making sure that you regularly restart your modem or router.
If you’ve the above causes have been checked and they don’t seem to be the cause of the problem, make sure that you troubleshoot your local network.

The exact steps may vary depending on what device you’re playing Fortnite on so try doing some Googling if you don’t know the specific steps to perform a particular solution in this guide.
- Check for game server issues.
Fortnite game servers may sometimes encounter issues causing issues. If you want to know if your Fortnite error code is due to a server problem, visit the official Fortnite Twitter page.
- Restart Fortnite.
If there’s no known server problems with Fortnite at this time, the cause of your problem may be found with the app itself. Try closing Fortnite and see if that will fix the error.
- Verify Fortnite game files are in order.
Some PC players have reported to us that they were able to fix Fortnite issues by making sure that the game files are not corrupted. If you are gaming on a computer, you can try to verify the game files by opening the Epic Games Launcher, going to Settings menu, and choosing Verify.
- Reboot your computer, smartphone or console.
One of the basic troubleshooting steps in fixing a lot of game issues is to reboot the console, computer, or smartphone. Make sure that you try this simple solution before proceeding to the next solutions below.
- Power cycle your networking equipment.
If nothing has changed after rebooting and there’s no known server problems at this time, your next step is to ensure that you deal with a possible issue with your connection by unplugging the modem/router for about 30-60 seconds. Once the network has been refreshed, try the game again and see if the Fortnite error code 91 is still there.
If you are playing on your phone and using mobile data for internet, simply skip this suggestion.
- Reinstall Fortnite.
Fortnite Error Code 91 may sometimes be fixed only by wiping the current installation of the game. Deleting Fortnite and installing it again is a drastic solution so consider this only if none of the suggestions has helped so far.
Keep in mind that the installation file size, especially for PC version, can be significantly bigger. It may take some time for you to redownload the game depending on your internet connection speed.
- Try switching to a private party.
If Fortnite is showing an error code when you’re playing in a party, try switching your party from public to private. Some Fortnite players have mentioned this trick to us although I haven’t personally found it effective when I encountered error 91.
- Contact Epic Game technical support.
