Fix Bose QuietComfort Earbuds Bluetooth Disconnects from Device

There are several factors that can cause Bose QuietComfort earbuds Bluetooth suddenly disconnects from paired device ranging from the distance between Bose product and paired device, Bluetooth list on device is full, issue with Bluetooth device to an outdated firmware. In this latest installment of our troubleshooting series, we will talk about solutions that you can try to fix Bose QuietComfort earbuds problem with Bluetooth that disconnects from paired device.

Fix QuietComfort earbuds problem with Bluetooth that disconnects from paired device

If Bluetooth connection between QuietComfort earbuds and paired device is interrupted and or unexpectedly disconnects, try the following solutions below to fix it.

Solution 1: Make sure Earbuds and paired device are within range

For Bluetooth connection to be established, a recommended Bluetooth range should be followed. The recommended Bluetooth range for Bose earbuds is 30 feet or 9 meters. If earbuds and paired device is not in close proximity with each other, Bluetooth connection will be interrupted and disconnect unexpectedly. To fix this, move QuietComfort earbuds and paired device in close proximity with each other.

Bluetooth range can also be interrupted by obstacles such as a wall, door, or nearby Bluetooth device which it was previously paired to.

Try reconnecting Bose earbuds to Bluetooth device and check if the issue still occurs.

Solution 2: Delete device list of previously paired devices

Bluetooth devices remembers and stores devices that it was previously paired to. There are times when the Bluetooth device list of previously list devices becomes full when that happens the device can no longer connect to another Bluetooth device unless otherwise one or all the paired devices on the lists will be cleared.

To fix this, you may need to clear out and or delete the memory lists of previously paired devices on the device to make room for another device to pair it with. The memory lists of previously paired devices is found on the Bluetooth settings on the device. You can either choose to unpair the device and or delete each of the device on the list.

Once device memory lists has been deleted, you will now be able to create a list of memory only this time manually choosing the ones that you want to connect to.

Try reconnecting Bose earbuds to Bluetooth device and check if the issue still occurs.

Solution 3: Try connecting to another Bluetooth device

At times, this particular problem can be caused by issues with the Bluetooth device itself. To confirm this, try connecting Bose earbuds to another device. If bluetooth disconnecting from paired device does not occur, it probably means that there is an ongoing Bluetooth issues with the previous device.

Solution 4: Reboot Bluetooth device

Just like with any electronic device, a simple way to fix minor issues is to reboot the device. This action refreshes the device and remove any corrupt data that may have caused Bluetooth connection problems to occur.

To reboot, turn device OFF then wait for a few seconds before turning device ON again.

After rebooting the device, try reconnecting Bose earbuds to Bluetooth device and check if the issue still occurs.

Solution 5: Check Bluetooth Power Management on device

When QuietComfort earbuds suddenly disconnects from paired device (computer), you may need to check power management settings on Bluetooth adapter connected to your computer. There is an option on the power management settings wherein Bluetooth adapter will automatically turn OFF in order to save power causing Bluetooth connection to disconnect.

To do this:

  1. At the search bar located on the lower left on your computer, type Device Manager
  2. Click on Device manager to open it.
  3. Click on Bluetooth to expand it.
  4. Right click on Bluetooth Adapter and click Properties from the drop down menu.
  5. Under Properties, click Power Management.
  6. Uncheck the option “Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power”
  7. Restart computers

After computer completely restarts, try reconnecting Bose earbuds to Bluetooth device and check if the issue still occurs.

Solution 6: Reset Bose QuietComfort Earbuds

If none of the solutions mentioned above did not help fix Bose earbuds problem with Bluetooth that disconnects from paired device, you may need to reset the product. This will refresh the earbuds and brings it back to its factory state. Saved settings and memory of previously connected Bluetooth devices will be also be deleted and cleared.

To do this:

  1. Connect charging case to power outlet
  2. Place QuietComfort earbuds to charging case, making sure charging pins are seated firmly.
  3. Close charging case, wait for about 5 seconds then open charging case.
  4. While earbuds still on charging case, press and hold Bluetooth button for 30 seconds then release the buttons. LED light on the earbuds will transition from blinking, to solid white and then turns to Blue

Once resetting of Bose QuietComfort wireless earbuds is done, try reconnecting Bose QuietComfort earbuds to Bluetooth device and check if the issue still occurs.
