Fitbit Charge 3 Quick View and tap recognition no longer work

Your Fitbit Charge 3 should turn its screen on even if you slightly raise your wrist as long as the Quick View or screen wake feature is enabled. There are, however, users who complained about such feature not working after a day or two of use and we’ll tackle such problem in this post.

Another problem we have to address here is about the tap recognition which wakes the screen when you tap the device. Both of these features can be found in Fitbit devices. So, continue reading if you have encountered issues like this as this post may be able to help you one way or another.

Fitbit Charge 3 Quick View not working

If the problem is due to a hardware issue, then Quick View shouldn’t have worked out of the box but if you were able to use such feature and then the problem occurred, then it might be due to some settings or a firmware issue. Based on reports from users who encountered it, the problem can be fixed by doing this:

  • Double tap to turn the screen on and then hold the left side for a few seconds and it should open up a menu with a screen wake setting.  Make sure that is on.

More often users tap the display of their trackers to wake it up if the Quick View feature isn’t enabled. However, tapping the band instead of the display is the best way as it’s more sensitive that way. Touch the part where the display and the band meet and or sure you Fitbit Charge 3 will respond to it as it should.

However, if these features still won’t work properly after doing their respective solution, then you should try restarting your tracker. Press and hold the button on your tracker for 8 seconds. Release the button. When you see a smile icon and the tracker vibrates, the tracker restarted. After this, try to see if the problem still occurs and if it still does, then you have no other choice but to factory reset your device.
