Troubleshooting Galaxy A60 that keeps restarting

A phone that keeps restarting is very annoying since you don’t know when the problem occurs. The phone may shut down while you’re doing something important or in a call with someone. That’s why you need to perform some troubleshooting procedures to know why this problem happens. Here’s what you need to do…

First solution: Run your phone in safe mode

Running your phone in safe mode will tell you immediately if the problem is caused by one of the apps your downloaded and installed. By doing this, you’re actually disabling all third-party apps temporarily. And here’s how you do that:

  1. Press and hold the Power key until options show.
  2. Tap and hold the Power off option until it changes into Safe Mode.
  3. Tap the Safe mode icon to restart your device.
  4. Once the reboot is successful, you should see ‘Safe mode’ at the lower-left corner of the screen.

If the phone does not restart by itself while in safe mode, then it means that there really is a third-party app that’s triggering the issue. Do the following to probe further:

  1. Restart your phone normal to boot into standard mode.
  2. Remember the apps you installed about the time when the phone starts to reboot by itself.
  3. Once you already have an app in mind, swipe down from the top of the screen to pull the notification panel down.
  4. Tap the Settings icon on the upper-right corner.
  5. Scroll to and then tap Apps.
  6. Find and tap suspected app.
  7. Tap Storage.
  8. Touch Clear data and tap OK to confirm.
  9. Tap the back key once and then touch Uninstall.
  10. Confirm that you want to remove the app from your phone.

On the other hand, if your phone still keeps restarting even in safe mode, then move on to the next solution.

Second solution: Reset all settings to fix phone that keeps restarting

The random reboots could also be due to some incorrect settings. It is necessary to reset all settings in your device to bring them all back to default values and hopefully fix this problem. Don’t worry, none of your files and data will be deleted if your did this. Here’s how…

  1. Swipe down from the top of the screen to pull the notification panel down.
  2. Tap the Settings icon on the upper-right corner.
  3. Scroll to and tap General management.
  4. Touch Reset.
  5. Tap Reset settings.
  6. Tap the Reset settings button.
  7. If prompted, enter your PIN, Password or Pattern.
  8. Finally, tap Reset.

Once the phone has finished rebooting, try to see if it still keeps restarting on its own. If it still does, then move on to the next solution.

Third solution: Wipe the cache partition

Wiping the cache partition will delete the system cache and replace it with a new one. It’s important that you did this procedure after if the first two failed because there’s always a possibility that phone keeps crashing due to corrupt system files. Here’s how it’s done:

  1. Turn off the device.
  2. Press and hold the Volume Up key and the Bixby key, then press and hold the Power key.
  3. When the Galaxy A60 logo shows, release all three keys.
  4. Your Galaxy A60 will continue to boot up into the Recovery Mode. Once you see a black screen with blue and yellow texts, proceed to the next step.
  5. Press the Volume down key several times to highlight wipe cache partition.
  6. Press Power key to select.
  7. Press the Volume down key to highlight yes, them and press the Power key to select.
  8. When the wipe cache partition is complete, Reboot system now is highlighted.
  9. Press the Power key to restart the device.

Once the phone has successfully rebooted, try to see if the phone still keeps restarting. If it does, the next solution will fix it.

However, make sure to create a copy of your important files and data as they will be deleted. After the backup, remove your Google and Samsung accounts so that you won’t be locked out of your device after the reset. When everything is ready, follow these steps to reset your phone:

  1. Turn off the device.
