It's that time of year again, where you're finally ready to leave home, and head out on a relaxing and adventurous vacation. Where to this time? Europe is a popular destination, and Belgium specifically is where a lot of people end up. However, if you're coming from the US or a non-EU country, one of the things you may not have thought of in preparation is needing a SIM card for the trip. Sure, you're current SIM might work, but you'll be coming home to hundreds, if not thousands in roaming charges.
By picking up a local SIM card before you go, or simply a SIM card designed for international use, you will save yourself tons of money during your trip. If you follow along with us below, we'll show you five of the best international SIM cards that you can use for traveling to Belgium. Let's get started.
Coming up first on our list is the Orange Holiday SIM. As one of the top telecom services in the EU, Orange is able to provide you with cellular data to many EU countries, including one like Belgium. Orange's Holiday SIM setup brings any GSM phone you have fast 4G data in Belgium, and naturally, other EU countries, too. You can easily stay in touch with friends and family while traveling with this SIM card.
This is one of the best deals that you're going to find as well, giving you 10GB of 4G LTE data that you can use for 14 days while traveling through the great country. Orange gives you up to two hours of talk time, and then another 1,000 SMS messages available. Used your phone a little too much on your trip? Running low on data? Not an issue -- Orange allows you to easily fill up.
UK Europe ThreeUK SIM Card
ThreeUK has a pretty popular SIM cards that offers similar performance to the Orange. ThreeUK offers a variety of SIM cards for international travel, and this one is one of their best. This SIM card in particular gives you access to 12GB of data, 3000 minutes in talk time and 3000 messages. Just like with the Orange, when you're running low on data, you can easily top off and refill whenever, allowing you to extend your trip as needed!
Mobal Europe Plus SIM
Next up, we're looking at the Mobal Europe Plus SIM. This SIM cards gives you 1GB of data to use, which should last you a couple days with minor use while in Beligum. However, Mobal, like Orange, allows you to top off your data as needed. One of the more unique things about the Mobal SIM is that they give you unrestricted tethering. Normally, a service charge is attached to hotspots, but not with Mobal.
Additionally, Mobal allows you to accept free, incoming calls from people in over 130 different countries, including text messages. That said, outgoing calls is where Mobal makes its money, charging 30¢ per minute rates in all countries. Less expensive than roaming charges in the US, but still pricier than most local and international SIM cards
Internet with legs Trio
ThreeUK's Internet with legs Trio SIM card is another excellent choice for traveling to Belgium. It has significantly less data than the past two options, but has a major advantage over many of the choices out there -- this SIM will work with a smartphone, tablet, hotspot device, and other Wi-Fi enabled pieces of technology. You can use almost any cellular-enabled device with this SIM. You do get just 3GB of data for 90 days; however, like the others. you can top off whenever needed.
This one is one of our favorite sin particularly because of what is essentially a "try before you buy" sort of option, giving you free roaming in the US to make sure it works with your phone.
Keepgo Global Lifetime SIM Card
Keepgo's Global Lifetime SIM cards is up next. It works well, but you only get 1GB of data that stays valid for 1 year with it. You can refill as you need it; however, if you don't refill at least once a year, or once during the period it's enabled, the card expires, and you'll have to get a new one when you travel to Belgium again
It's worth noting that this one only works with GSM phones. This one is also data only, with no talk or texting capabilities available here.
Here we've shown you five of the best SIM cards for traveling to Belgium.
