Spotify keeps crashing on Galaxy S10 Plus

First solution: Force restart your phone first

If it’s the first time that Spotify started to crash, then it could be just a result of a minor firmware issue. In such case, a forced reboot will fix it. Therefore, you must begin your troubleshooting with this procedure…

  1. Press and hold the volume down button and don’t release it.
  2. While holding the volume button down, press and hold the power key as well.
  3. Now, keep both keys held down together for 15 seconds or until the Galaxy S10 Plus logo shows on the screen.

Instead of just updating the app via Play Store, it’s best to completely remove it from your phone to also remove all its associations with other apps and services.   1. Swipe down from the top of the screen to pull the notification panel down.
  2. Tap the Settings icon on the upper-right corner of the screen.
  3. Scroll to and tap Apps.
  4. Find and tap Spotify.
  5. Tap Uninstall and confirm your action.
  6. Reboot your phone after uninstallation.
  7. Once the phone becomes active, open Play Store.
  8. Search for ‘spotify’ and tap the first option to show.
  9. Tap Install to download and install Spotify on your phone.

After this procedure, observe your phone closely to know if the Spotify keeps crashing still after all this and if it still does, then it’s time for the ultimate solution.

Fifth solution: Backup your files and reset your phone

App problems can always be fixed by a master reset but we often suggest this procedure after exhausting all possible solutions as you may end up losing some of your files and data. At this point however you have no other choice but to reset your phone. Make sure to create a backup of your important files and data and then remove your Google and Samsung accounts from your phone so that you won’t be locked out. Once everything is set, follow these steps to reset your phone:

  1. Turn off the device.
  2. Press and hold the Volume Up key and the Bixby key, then press and hold the Power key.
  3. When the Galaxy S10 Plus logo shows on the screen, release all keys.
  4. Your phone will continue the boot process until it reaches the recovery mode.
  5. Press the Volume down key several times to highlight ‘wipe data / factory reset’.
  6. Press Power button to select.
  7. Press the Volume down key until ‘Yes — delete all user data’ is highlighted.
  8. Press Power button to select and start the master reset.
  9. When the master reset is complete, ‘Reboot system now’ is highlighted.
