How do you update your Fitbit?
When anew software update becomes available for your Fitbit Charge 5 a notification will appear on the Fitbit app of the connected phone.
Before performing any software update your tracker’s battery must be at least 20% charged. Updating Charge 5 may be demanding on the battery so its best to plug the tracker into the charger before starting an update.
Manually updating Fitbit Charge 5
Open the Fitbit app on the connected phone.
Tap the photo avatar on the top left side of the app.
Scroll down and tap Help & Support.
Tap on Check for Charge 5 update.
If an update is available then just press the on-screen prompts.
If the Charge 5 is already running on the latest software update then you will get the message ” Charge 5 is up to date”.
Why can’t I update my Fitbit device?
Sometimes you might encounter issues when updating the Charge 5 premium fitness tracker software. When this happens you should first make sure that the connected phone with the Fitbit app installed has a good Wi-Fi connection. you should also make sure that the Charge 5 and phone are connected using Bluetooth.
Restart the Fitbit Charge 5
There might be a software glitch preventing the update to be installed. Restarting the fitness tracker will usually fix this problem.
Connect your device to the charging cable.
Press the button located on the flat end of the charger 3 times, pausing for 1 second between presses. Then wait 10 seconds or until the Fitbit logo appears.
Restart your phone
Try restarting the phone or tablet that hosts the Fitbit app. Sometimes a software glitch on the phone will prevent your smartwatch from getting updates.
After restarting both the Charge 5 fitness tracker and the phone with the Fitbit app try manually updating the software of the fitness tracker again.
