Going back to the problem at hand, here’s what you need to do if Twitter starts to keep crashing on Galaxy Note 9 after the Android Pie update…
- Clear cache and data of Twitter.
- Try to see if there’s an update available.
- Uninstall Twitter and reinstall it back.
In troubleshooting issues with third-party applications, there are only a few procedures you can try but rest assured that one of them would work. The first thing you have to do is to reset the app itself. It means clearing its cache and data, which will bring the app back to its default settings as well as replace the cache and data files that may have been corrupted. Here’s how it’s done:
- From the Home screen, swipe up on an empty spot to open the Apps tray.
- Tap Settings > Apps.
- Find and tap Twitter.
- Tap Storage > CLEAR CACHE > CLEAR DATA > DELETE.
If the first procedure failed to fix the problem, the next thing you have to do is find out if there’s an update available for the app in question. More often than not, developers would roll out updates for their apps when there are major Android updates rolled out by Google. This would address or patch issues with the app that may occur after an update. Open Google Play Store, go to My Apps and then try to see if there’s an update available for Twitter. If there are updates for other apps, you may as well update them to prevent further issues.
However, if there’s no update or if the problem continues to occur even after updating the app, then you have no other choice but to uninstall and then reinstall it. This will make sure you are running the most recent version of Twitter.
- From the Home screen, swipe up on an empty spot to open the Apps tray.
- Tap Settings > Apps.
- Find and tap Twitter.
- Tap UNINSTALL > OK.
- Open Google Play Store.
- Search for Twitter and install it.
