T-Mobile was expected to launch nationwide 5G coverage in the U.S. on December 6. However, it seems like the company simply couldn’t wait until then to flip the switch as the carrier has now officially announced the launch of its nationwide 5G signals using the 600 MHz spectrum. However, since none of T-Mobile’s current smartphone lineup supports 5G, interested customers will have to wait until December 6 when the carrier will also launch the OnePlus 7T Pro 5G McLaren Edition and Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ 5G. Both handsets are currently up for pre-order on T-Mobile’s site, so you can be the first to enjoy T-Mobile’s 5G networks in the U.S.
T-Mobile’s 600 MHz low-band 5G spectrum will cover 5,000 cities and towns across the U.S., giving nearly 200 million American consumers access to 5G networks. For those confused about T-Mobile’s coverage area, the carrier has published a coverage map on its website.
The carrier will also bring its 5G networks to prepaid customers of Metro by T-Mobile. However, prepaid 5G will only go live on December 6. So despite T-Mobile making the announcement today, technically none of its customers or subsidiaries will be able to use the networks until this Friday, the 6th of December.
Those interested in getting the OnePlus 7T Pro 5G McLaren Edition or the Galaxy Note 10+ 5G will have to shell out $899.99 or $1299.99 respectively, with the Samsung flagship being one of the most expensive phones of the year along with the 2019 iPhones. Naturally, customers can also get both phones in monthly installments. The carrier is also offering attractive offers while adding new lines, so it’s definitely worth checking out.
