S9+ Shuts Down On Its Own
Problem: Hi! I have the galaxy s9 plus and it, on it’s own, shut down and won’t open I even tried the force restart multiple times and also doing other solutions posted on your site. It has never been dropped nor soaked in any body of water and it’s only a month old when I bought it at the samsung store. It was charging at 70% when the incident happened and also there is no response like noise or lights just a cold brick that won’t open, please help
Solution: The first thing that you will need to do in this case is to make sure that the phone has sufficient charge. Connect the phone to its charger and let it charge for at least 20 minutes. If you don’t see any charging indicator then perform the recommended steps listed below.
- Clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air.
- Try using a different charging cord and wall charger to charge the phone.
- Check if the phone can charge from a computer USB port.
- If you have a wireless charger then try using this.
Once the phone has sufficient charge try doing a soft reset. Press and hold the Power and Volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds. The Maintenance Boot Mode screen will appear. From the Maintenance Boot Mode screen, select Normal Boot.
In case the phone still remains unresponsive then you should bring this to a service center and have it checked.
S9+ Black Screen of Death
Problem: Hi, I have been having the samsung galaxy black screen of death issue but my problem is a little more severe. The first time that I tried the solution of power button and volume down button it worked but the screen eventually went black again a few weeks later. I then tried this solution again but to no help. I then tried the solution of clearing the cache which did work. My phone only stayed on for a few hours. It is now black and will not turn on with any of the solutions that I can find. The only thing that my phone will do now will show as if it is charging over and over again when it is in the charger. Please help.
Solution: The best thing that you can do right now is to make sure that the battery of the phone has sufficient charge. Refer to the troubleshooting steps listed above to charge the phone. Once this is done you will have to start the phone in recovery mode then from here do a factory reset. This will allow you to check if the problem is caused by a software glitch. Take note that this will erase your phone data. In case the screen still remains black even in recovery mode then the problem is most likely caused by a faulty display assembly. The best thing you can do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
S9+ Will Only Charge If Off
Problem: Hi there! Hope you can help. My phone now will not charge when I plug it in, but if i turn it off ,then it will charge. If i turn it on while charging, it will continue charging. But if i unplug it and try charging later, it will not charge. I have tried different cords and outlets for this. Any ideas?
Solution: For this particular problem you should try cleaning the charging port of the phone first using a can of compressed air. Make sure to remove any dirt or debris stuck in the port. Next, try to check if the charger you are using is causing the problem by using a different charging cord and wall charger to charge the phone. If the problem still persists then you will need to have this checked at a service center as this could already be caused by a faulty hardware component.
S9+ Not Fully Charging
Problem: I turn it off every night and charge it with the fast charger. I have tested with regular charger with the same result. The phone says it is 100% charged. I turn it on and it is down to 88%. I have stopped all background apps and done everything else in device maintenance. The screen is not on bright.
Solution: The best thing that you can do right now is to backup your phone data then start the phone in recovery mode. From here you should wipe the cache partition of the phone then follow this up with a factory reset. Once this is done do not install any apps in your phone yet. Try checking first if the issue still occurs. In case it does then your phone might need a battery replacement. You should have this checked at a service center.
