The black screen of death happens every now and then but it’s relatively common with mid-range devices. Most of the time, it’s not something you need to be worried about as it can be fixed easily provided that your device doesn’t have clear signs of liquid or physical damage.
But that is also one of the things you have to look into especially that the Samsung Galaxy F22 doesn’t have the IP67 or IP68 certification that makes it waterproof. Aside from that, you will also need to perform the most basic troubleshooting procedures to try and fix this problem. Here are the things you need to do:
First solution: Force restart your phone
More often than not, a black screen of death issue is just a case of a stuck phone or firmware. Phone’s like the Galaxy F22 don’t have a user-removable battery that’s why they would always respond to the force reboot procedure. That must be the first thing you need to do as it might save you from a lot of trouble.
To do so, press and hold the volume down button and the power key for 8 seconds or more. Your phone will often respond to it, so if the Samsung logo shows, release both keys and allow it to continue the boot process.
However, if your phone doesn’t respond to this, then try the next solution.
Second solution: Try running the phone in Recovery mode
The next thing you have to do is your Galaxy F22 fails to respond with the first solution is to try and run in Recovery mode. It’s a fail-safe for all Android devices and it will tell you right off the bat if your phone is still capable of turning on even without loading the user interface.
To do so, simply press and hold the volume up button and the power key for 8 seconds or more. If the phone responds and vibrates, release both keys and wait until it enters the recovery mode. If successful, reboot the device from there by pressing the power key once. However, if it’s still not responding, then try the next solution.
Third solution: Charge and do the forced restart
After doing the first two solutions and your phone is still not responding, then it’s possible that it’s due to a drained battery. Sometimes the firmware will crash if you let the battery drain completely and that might also be the reason why your phone won’t respond to its charger.
To address this, just connect the phone to its charger and make sure the power adapter is plugged into a working wall outlet.
Leave it connected to the charger for at least 10 minutes regardless of whether the charging symbol shows or not.
After that, press and hold the volume down button and the power key for 8 seconds or more.
If the logo shows, then release both keys and your phone should continue the boot process after that.
However, if the device is still not responding, then there’s probably a serious issue with your phone and it needs to be checked by a tech.
