S9 Screen Is White
Problem: Hi, PLEASE can you help me!! For no apparent reason my S9 screen has gone all white and grey (like a hazy wavy lines) and won’t budge even if I try and do a reset or recharge the battery . All my holiday and precious recent photos are on it and haven’t backed up elsewhere . I’m desperate to retrieve my photos if nothing else. I can’t even access any apps or settings , the white/grey screen won’t budge . Really hope you have a solution as fear a technician will wipe all my photos off before fixing it. Thank you in advance. I can email a picture of the screen if helps
Solution: The best way to recover the data stored in the phone is to connect the device to a computer with Smart Switch running. If the phone can be detected then you will be able to retrieve your phone data. However, if Smart Switch is unable to connect to your phone then the only way you will be able to retrieve your phone data is if the display of the phone is fixed. There’s a possibility that the display is already faulty and needs to be replaced. The best thing you can do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
S9 Only Turns On When Connected to Charger After Screen Replacement
Problem: Good day, My phone has been freezing and flickering, I booked it in and they told me that the screen needed to be replaced. After the screen was replaced I am still experiencing the same problem and now there is an additional one where the phone just completely shuts down and when switching it on it shows “Samsung logo”, when you try to download the new version, reboot or shutdown there is still now change. It only manages to stay on all the time when is on the charger. The phone shuts down whether the battery is at 100% or 50% and below. I have also noticed that my phone does no longer have the finger printing option after its screen was replaced. So I would like to know what is wrong with my phone.
Solution: Unfortunately this appears to be a hardware related problem already. The only troubleshooting step that you can do right now is to start the phone in recovery mode then do a factory reset. Take note that this will erase your phone data. If the issue persists then you need to bring the phone back to the service center.
S9 Not Turning On After Drop
Problem: I put my tmobile galaxy S9 on a table to charge. It was working fine. A Lil later I found my phone on the floor and the screen was stuck on black but notification lights were on and I could hear my phone powering on and hear vibration. I Google how to fix my problem and I found a forum that said to push the volume down button, the power button all at the same time until the little green reboot guy pops up. I never saw him pop up and now my phone wont even power on
Solution: It looks like the drop might have damaged the phone display. You can try to check if some other factor is causing the problem by doing the troubleshooting steps listed below.
- Connect the phone to a wall charger then let it charge for at least 20 minutes. Restart the phone.
- Try to check if the phone can start in recovery mode. If the display works in this mode then this might be caused by a software glitch. You will then need to do a factory reset in this mode. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data.
In case the above steps fails to fix the problem then you will have to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
S9 Not Waking From Sleep Mode
Problem: When my Galaxy S9 is on lower brightness settings, the screen has a green tint to it and the brightness pulsates. Also, sporadically when the screen is locked, I can’t turn it back on. It will just flash white and go back to black. The notification/charging light is on and it still makes sounds, but the screen won’t turn on. I have to let it sit for about 20 minutes and then sometimes I can get the screen back on. After a software update, both problems stopped for about 2 weeks, but then came back with a vengeance. A factory reset did nothing. Is there anything I can do, or is my phone toast? Help!
Solution: If the issue still occurs after you performed a factory reset then this is most likely caused by a faulty hardware component. The best thing you can do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
