S9 Randomly Restarts

Problem: I have Samsung s9 – only for 1 week.  It continually shuts down and restarts. I have talked with Xfinity and they have not been helpful. Done soft restart, removed apps, factory restart – continually does this behavior.  Help Android version 8.0 Purchased phone from Xfinity and use them as carrier.

Solution: Does your phone have a microSD card installed? If it does then try removing it as this might be causing the problem.

I also recommend that you backup your phone data then start the phone in recovery mode. From here perform the following steps listed below.

  • Wipe the cache partition of the phone.
  • Do a factory reset.

Once you have performed the above steps do not install any apps in your phone yet. Try to check if the phone still restarts. If it does then this is most likely caused by a faulty hardware component in which case you will need to have the phone repaired at a service center or have it replaced if it is still under warranty.

Related Problem: I have a Samsung S9 Last night I put it to charge when I woke up this morning the phone was dead I tried pushing the power button and a blue light appeared on the corner of the phone but he didn’t switch on I have tried catching it with another original cable and nothing The blue light doesn’t appear anymore I’ve tried the volume down and power buttons and it doesn’t work I’ve tried charging it countless times including for over 4 hours and nothing.

Related Problem: Is my Galaxy S9? Black screen – won’t charge or turn on.  Since it appears to be dead, I can’t get it to do a soft reset, hard/factory reset. Tried discharging the phone by holding in the power button, and then charging it but there is no response. The little charging light at the top  never comes on. Even tried doing all this with the SD card and SIM card removed. I also tried charging from a USB port on my computer and did receive a connection tone from the computer but the phone still did not charge and does not show in Explorer. Is there any hope and can it be repaired, or does it pay? I love the phone. Many thanks in advance.

Solution: It looks like the problem right now is that the phone does not turn on because the battery does not have sufficient charge. To fix this issue you should follow the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air making sure that any dirt or debris stuck in it gets removed.
  • Charge the phone for at least 20 minutes using a wall charger.
  • If the phone does not charge then try using a different charging cord and wall charger. You should also try charging the phone from a computer USB port. If you have a wireless charger available then try to use this to charge your phone.
  • Once the phone has sufficient charge you should perform a soft reset. This is done by pressing and holding the power and volume down buttons for 10 seconds. Your phone should restart after this.
