Samsung Galaxy S3 Cannot Display Website Content [How To Fix]

My Samsung Galaxy S3 cannot view a website’s content. It seems like it’s stuck somewhere that it cannot fully open almost all websites I go to. I’m not really a savvy person so I don’t know what to say but I need your help.

I launch my browser, type in the website’s address and tap Go. It worked before, in fact, I often use it to post anything on my blog. It actually started about a couple of weeks ago and I don’t know what happened. I thought it was just a temporary issue with my phone. I think there are some settings messed up somewhere but I just cannot pin-point it. By the way, my son often plays his favorite game on my phone so I suspect he was the one who messed it up.

I would surely appreciate your suggestions or directions. Thank you!

The problem is quite simple: the user cannot view contents of some websites. Thus, we are inclined to believe it is a browser issue and that’s just right. However, before we actually take steps to troubleshoot the browser, we will try to find out if there are underlying problems that could have contributed to it.

Troubleshooting

First Step: When experiencing problems like this, always check the internet connection first before going further. If you’re using mobile data, check if you’re getting good coverage, currently not in the area with outages, or if the phone is receiving sufficient signal. For those who are connected through WiFi, make sure the signal is good, too. If you were able to send or receive emails then you have a good internet connection.

Second Step: If you have a laptop, a desktop or other mobile devices, go try to browse the web and visit the website you tried to visit using your Galaxy S3. See if everything looks fine on the site. If you failed to do this, you might end up troubleshooting your device without knowing that the problem is with the website.

Third Step: The browser bandwidth limitation setting may have been set not to load images and other multimedia files on websites. You need to check on this:

  1. Launch the browser.
  2. Tap the Menu key.
  3. Tap Settings.
  4. Choose Bandwidth Management.
  5. Check the box beside Load Images.
  6. Now refresh the page to check if you can now display the contents.

Fourth Step: After doing the previous step and the problem still persists, check on Content Settings of your browser. It may have been set not to load JavaScripts.

  1. Launch the browser.
  2. Tap the Menu key.
  3. Tap Settings.
  4. Tap Content Settings.
  5. Check the box next to Enable JavaScript.
  6. Now check if the page loads contents.

Fifth Step: If the problem wasn’t resolved in the previous step, you should check to see if the pop-up blocker was turned on. There have been a lot of cases that the pop-up blocker was the one causing browsing problems on smartphones.

  1. Launch the browser.
  2. Tap the Menu key.
  3. Tap Settings.
  4. Tap Content Settings.
  5. Uncheck the box next to Block Pop-ups.
  6. Now check if the problem was resolved.

Sixth Step: Lastly, if all procedures above fail, there is nothing left for you to do than to clear the browser’s cache and data. Be advised that you may lose some settings, data and bookmarks when you clear data.

  1. From the Home screen, tap the Menu key.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Choose Application Manager.
  4. Scroll to and tap Browser.
  5. Tap Clear Cache, then Clear Data.
  6. Tap Force Close button.
  7. Reboot phone.

After doing this procedure and the problem still persists, then try to use a different browser like Chrome, etc.
