S9 Randomly Disconnects From Wi-Fi

Problem: My phone’s wifi disconnects and reconnects every five minutes, and it’s really annoying *especially* when you have to watch videos. Now, this started happening after our router randomly restarted itself. I don’t know what to do (and this, by the way, doesn’t happen on all the devices in the house. It weirdly happens to just the phones.)

Solution: The best way to tackle this problem is to first check if the problem is caused by the router. Try connecting your phone to a different Wi-fi network then check if the issue still occurs. If it doesn’t then the issue is most likely caused by your router. You should troubleshoot this device or contact your ISP regarding this matter.

In case the issue still occurs even when the phone is connected to a different Wi-Fi network then proceed with the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Start the phone in Safe Mode then check if the issue occurs in this mode. If it doesn’t then it could be caused by a downloaded app. You should find out what app this is and uninstall it.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

S9 Disconnects From Mobile Data

Problem: Hi, I have been having issues with my phones mobile data. I am using S9, when I turn it on, it will connect for a few seconds then it disconnects like no signal though I am getting good quality signal. After a few seconds, it will connect then disappears. It will keep on doing that 3-4 times then nothing. I have tried doing a soft reset and did a hard reset as well but it is still the same. It works well when connected to wi-fi but using the mobile data is rubbish. What can you advise?

Solution: Since you have already performed a factory reset and the issue still remains then you are now left with a few troubleshooting steps. You can try checking if the problem is signal related by going to a different area. Does the issue still occur in this area? If it does then you can also contact your carrier to inquire if there are any mobile data issue on the network or on your account.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you should bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S9 Not Connecting To Home Wi-Fi

Problem: Ever since I received my phone, there has been issues with it connecting to my home WiFi. I am on the network Virgin media and didn’t have any difficulty with my previous phone or with any other devices, however whenever I connect my phone to the 3G Or 4G version of the network, it works for a short while (10 minutes or so) then begins to not load anything usually indicating that there is an error in my network. I’ve tried factory resetting the phone, switching the WiFi router on and off, same with phone WiFi, forget networks, turn my phone off and on with attempting to do so with WiFi and I am still facing issues. I’d like to know if there is a known reason for this and if there is any possible solutions to try along with it. Thank you.

Solution: Try checking if the issue occurs when you are in a different location. You should also check if the problem occurs when the phone is connected to a different Wi-Fi network. This way you can eliminate any router or network related issues that could be causing this problem. In case the issue persists then you will have to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked as this could already be caused by a faulty hardware component.

S9 Internet Not Available When Connecting To Home Wi-Fi

Problem: I’m have the same issue apparently many other people are. My galaxy 98 work perfectly on every wifi except the one in my home. It connects well but then it tells me “internet may not be available” I’ve tried literally everything I can to fix this but I can’t figure it out. I’ve even gone so far as to do a factory reset on it. Not even that helped so I’m out of options. What would you request me to do?

Solution: It looks like the problem is caused by an issue with your home router since you are not experiencing any issues when your phone connects to other Wi-Fi networks. You should have your router checked by a technician.
