S9 Not Recognizing microSD Card

Problem: I have a Samsung Galaxy S9.  I purchased a Micro SD Card 128G and the phone won’t recognize the card. Then i purchase another Micro SD Card 64G and the Phone recognize it.  Been said that: The phone already have a Micro SD Card 32G and i transferred some Apps and open new files for photos, videos, music, documents and other stuff and is working fine. So i connect the Micro SD Card into an USB reader and made a copy of the 32G on my computer. At this moment so far so good. The  i took the 64G card and inserted into the USB reader and the computer identified the card, so i proceed to transfer from the copy of the 32G to the 64G card and everything went fine. When i insert the 64G into the phone and turn on the phone in a blink of an eye the photos appeared and then all the photos and videos were gone but not the documents. Then i connect again the 64G card to the USB reader and when i open the Card all the files appear but they are empty with no info, photos or videos, only some operative info from the phone. I tried transferring the info to a target, also with copy and paste and it happen the same.

Solution: It looks like the phone is corrupting the data stored in the microSD card. The best thing to do right now is to backup your phone data then do a factory reset. This will allow you to check if the problem is caused by a software glitch. Once the reset is complete you should copy the same files from your computer to your microSD card then insert the card to your phone. Check if the files still disappear. In case the issue still persists then try getting a different microSD card as the problem could be caused by a faulty card.

S9 No microSD Card Inserted Error

Problem: I have a Samsung Galaxy S9. I bought a Samsung SD Card 64GB from Ebay, when I initially installed it, a message appeared saying card damaged, I formatted it, everything seemed fine. Photos were automatically saved to SD card, after about 2 weeks I noticed some photos were corrupted and suddenly the phone was suggesting there was no SD card present. I tried the same process again and again the same thing happened. I spoke to an O2 guru who told me my SD card seemed fine, he thought it was my phone, all phones weren’t compatible with SD cards, manufacturers were starting to avoid making phones capable of having SD cards, they were just increasing the internal memory. I then spoke to Samsung who told me the fact we purchased our SD cards from Ebay was the issue, it must be a counterfeit, O2 Guru was wrong, apparently. I just want to get an idea of who is correct or is it a mixture of both n? Were Samsung aware of this issue of SD cards? . Some light shed on this would be great. Thank you for you time

Related Problem: I have been using a microSD card in my Samsung galaxy S9 for a couple of weeks without issue. Today I noticed that in my gallery app, the photos that were on my sd card were gone. When I checked my storage settings nothing showed up besides internal storage. I shut down my phone and removed the sd card, cleaned it, re-inserted and booted back up in safe mode. Still nothing – the only message was in the storage settings where it says “no sd card inserted”. I’m not even getting errors – it’s like it’s not even there! Any help would be so appreciated. Thank you!

Solution: There’s a possibility that the card you purchased is faulty and is causing this problem. The best thing to do right now is to get another microSD card then check if the issue still occurs. If it does then the next step is to check if a software glitch is causing the problem. To check if this is the case you will have to backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete you should then check if the issue still occurs.
