The LG V30 is one of the few smartphones that come with plenty of storage space, and you can even choose models with much larger spaces than what’s available by default; however, for power users or people who use their phones in professional settings, that likely just isn’t enough space available. Luckily, LG has made it possible with the V30 — even when many manufacturers are getting rid of microSD support — to expand storage through microSD cards.
So, if you want to make sure that you have enough storage for your daily tasks, then you without a doubt want to outfit your LG V30 with one of these cards. Which one do you choose, though? After all, there are a significant amount available, making it difficult to narrow down to just one. That’s why we’re showing you five of our favorite microSD memory card on the market. Follow along below, and we’ll help you make the best purchase for you.
SanDisk Extreme PRO V30
Coming in at number five place on our list, we have SanDisk’s very own Extreme PRO line microSD memory cards. The neat thing about this — but this particular one comes in 64GB, but you can search for higher options (they are certainly available in smaller sizes). This microSD card is 4K ready, so you can use it to film 4K video as well. You shouldn’t have a problem loading applications quickly with this one, as the SanDisk Extreme PRO is fast. Data transfers are pretty impressive, coming in at 90MB per second in write speeds and 100MB per second in read speeds.
SanDisk has actually included a number of protections and resistances against water, dust, shock, and more as well.
SanDisk Extreme PLUS U3
Coming in as our number four choice for the LG V30 is SanDisk’s Extreme PLUS microSD memory card. In addition to providing you with your basic storage needs, SanDisk includes a ton of resistances and proofing inside. You can easily use this in adverse conditions without a risk of actually breaking it. There’s water and dust protections here — so there’s no worries about dropping the card in water and ruining it. This one comes in 64GB of storage, and you might get lucky to find it in a 128GB model, too. As a 4K-ready card, you won’t have trouble using this to film optimized 4K video.
The number three contender for the best microSD memory card for LG V30 is the Samsung Pro+ card. This is one of the best options that you can get in terms of storage size and performance; however, it comes in as our number three choice because of it’s high price point. Still, with the Samsung Pro+, you’ll have no problem doing heavy lifting tasks, such as filming 4K video, store large apps, and more. There’s some really good data transfer speeds inside of this one, giving you around 95Mbps in read speeds, and 90Mbps in write speeds.
Samsung Evo Select
Samsung Evo PLUS
Coming in as our first and favorite pick, we have Samsung’s very own EVO Plus microSD memory card. This is the perfect choice for those that don’t want to spend too much cash, but still want decent storage performance. Pop out the SIM card tray on the V30, set this card in the microSD slot, pop it back in, and you’ll get an extra 64GB of storage space to use for photos, videos, apps, games, and more.
Since this is a cross between top storage performance and affordability, transfer speeds are definitely a little lower than many of the others on our list. You still get a whole 100MB per second in in read speeds, but your write speeds drop significantly to 60MB per second. On the downside, it’s only available in 64GB.
As you can see, there are a lot of excellent microSD memory cards available for the LG V30 smartphone. In fact, there are far more good ones than we just listed here, but these are certainly up there with some of the best. So which one do you choose? Well, if you don’t have much cash to spend, the Samsung EVO Plus or the EVO Select are both excellent options. But, if you want long-term reliability, the Samsung Pro+ is easily one of the greatest tools available to you.
